Warner Bros. has dropped the teaser trailer for Final Destination: Bloodlines, and it gives the kind of creeps the franchise has built its reputation on.

It hasn't been an easy journey for Final Destination: Bloodlines, which was stuck in production limbo for several years. The film arrives as the sixth chapter in the Final Destination franchise, which released its fifth part over a decade ago. It started as an idea roughly in 2019, but couldn't enter the filming stage for a number of technical reasons, including the industry-wide strikes in Hollywood that delayed plans. It was finally shot over a few months in 2024.

In the film's newly-released teaser trailer, an elaborate death sequence shows a man succumbing to things beyond his control. That isn't odd for the franchise's fans, who are aware of rudimentary details about its gratifying violence. The new clip teases viewers with a kind of kill that would excite lovers of gore. The wait for them won't be a long one, as Final Destination: Bloodlines is scheduled to debut in theaters on May 16, 2025.

The Final Destination: Bloodlines teaser trailer offers a peek into this latest entry in this successful horror franchise. As expected, the film series is back with a gory kill-fest that isn't for the faint of heart. The teaser trailer shows a tattoo artist offering a tongue piercing to a client. As she leaves, he starts working on a tattoo on his arm, unaware of a chain reaction he has accidentally set up, which leads to his death.

Unlike past films of the franchise, the new film has an official synopsis, as quoted on IMDb:

Plagued by a recurring violent nightmare, a college student returns home to find the one person who can break the cycle and save her family from the horrific fate that inevitably awaits them.

New Line Cinema has backed the new project that serves as the sixth chapter in this supernatural horror film series. It isn't clear whether it is a reboot or a continuation of the fifth chapter, which was released in 2011. However, it looks just as gory and horrifying as the previous entries.

Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky have teamed up to direct Final Destination: Bloodlines. Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor have written the screenplay based on characters by Jeffrey Reddick. The cast includes Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Owen Patrick Joyner, Teo Briones, Anna Lore, Richard Harmon, Rya Kihlstedt, Tony Todd, and Brec Bassinger.

Warner Bros. Pictures will serve as distributor of the film, which will be out in theaters and also be available to watch on the wide IMAX screens.
