Your favorite gory horror franchise is making a comeback, and things look even bloodier and more chilling than ever before. Fourteen years after the fifth film in the franchise was released, the Final Destination series is back with Final Destination: Bloodlines, making a comeback on screens after much anticipation from fans.
The sixth film will have its heart set on even scarier events as it takes us through the franchise's signature horror elements that combine real-life incidents with vicious outcomes resulting from chain reactions. The film marks one of the last appearances of late actor Tony Todd in cinema.
The actor was in all the Final Destination films as William Bludworth, the owner of Bludworth Funeral Homes; the personification of death in the series. The actor passed away in 2024. The studio has revealed that the actor will posthumously be a part of the film.
It is unsure how Todd will fit into the new plot and where his character will be placed, but for fans of the series, Todd's inclusion is surely nostalgic.
More details on Final Destination: Bloodlines
The trailer for the new film dropped yesterday, and it featured a tattoo artist succumbing to death after a series of incidents ended up with him hanging from the ceiling by a metal chain attached to his nose and then falling into a fire. It has already set the tone for a grim and gorey atmosphere that the film will most likely have, and it's both scary and exciting.
The film also stars Brec Bassinger, Teo Briones, Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Anna Lore, Max Lloyd-Jones, Rya Kihlstedt, and Tinpo Lee. It's directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein and written by Jon Watts, Guy Busick, and Lori Evans Taylor.
Not much has been revealed about the film's plot as of yet, and the trailer is just a scene, but the franchise can be trusted to blend the eeriest elements of horror and the usual pattern of fatal incidents taking place as a result of the smallest of actions.
Final Destination: Bloodlines will hit theaters on May 16.
