There's a new update on Final Destination: Bloodlines, the new chapter in the supernatural horror franchise that the film's music composer Tim Wynn shared on his Instagram before removing it. Recently, Warner Bros. delayed the film's release, which is currently slated to hit theaters on May 16, 2024
The movie won't serve as a sequel to the last but sort of a soft reboot where it is likely to focus on first responders. As the title suggests, it also involves a girl having premonitions like the previous movies that run into her grandmother's bloodline. To that end, we can expect death dancing around in the film now and then.
Wynn was quick to remove the Final Destination: Bloodlines update
Wynn updated on his Instagram handle by writing,
"That's a wrap. Looking forward to this being released in the theaters this May. Grateful to be a part of this amazing team."
But wrap doesn't necessarily mean the production is finished; it could be that that's a wrap on Tim Wynn's part. Given that the film is still a few months away from its release, it is likely still in postproduction.
Although the post was removed, Bloody Disgusting pulled a screenshot of the post and shared it over the website. Fans can see the Final Destination: Bloodlines logo on a studio screen while a couple of guys sit on their chairs, likely 'wrapping up' the session.
There's no official synopsis for Final Destination: Bloodlines out in the public but industry scooper Daniel Richtman has provided one that reads,
Just as she’s about to leave home for college, 18 year old STEFANI, who’s been having horrific nightmares about dying in a tower accident in the 1960s, discovers that her dream is actually a premonition that happened to her grandmother, Esther, who thwarted death fifty years ago but is now running out of time. Stefani learns that though her grandmother thwarted Death (until she died in her 80s), and Death has been going after the would-have-been victims of that long-ago catastrophe, killing them off and then going after their children. Stefani and her family realize that their bloodline isn’t safe from Death, who will take them violently and gruesomely, in order, unless someone like Stefani figures out a way to stop it.
If we go by this plot, that cancels out the rumors that it will be about the first responders. But then this one goes well with the title, as we briefly mentioned earlier.
As for the Final Destination: Bloodlines cast, a few are confirmed, including Brec Bassinger, Rya Kihlstedt, Richard Harmon, and more. Tony Todd, who was a regular in the franchise, is likely to appear in a posthumous appearance. He passed away last year in November.
Given that this is a soft reboot, we can expect more sequels to it in the future. Tony Todd himself mentioned that a couple of sequels will be produced if Final Destination 5 becomes a success, and it did.
