A popular rumor has been going viral claiming that women were allowed to go topless at Disney World. The news gained momentum, and social media users spread it like wildfire.

A Facebook account named David R. Holt shared a post on October 8, 2024, saying that the news was disturbing and that people with kids would eventually stop visiting the park. The post read:

“I heard something today that if I were a parent would really disturb me. Apparently women can now go topless at Disney World. What??? Yes, it’s true. So that’s what you want to see at your family park with your little kids is some woman running around topless. They said if men can go topless and Disney World women should be allowed to.”

As mentioned already, the viral claim is a rumor, as the entertainment conglomerate has not made any such announcement. The rumor originated after a website named Mouse Trap News published an article stating that women would be allowed to go topless at the entertainment resort due to the rising temperature in Florida.

However, it is noteworthy that Mouse Trap News is a satire and parody site, and none of what it writes or claims is true. Its bio on the website states that Mouse Trap News is the ultimate satire and parody site, specializing in fake stories about all things related to Disney Parks.

Whether fictional park announcements, imaginary hotels, resort news, or completely made-up partnerships, nothing readers find on the website is true, real, or accurate; it is purely for fun.

A woman was caught swimming topless at Disney World earlier this year

In March 2024, a guest at the resort was spotted swimming topless at a resort hotel. The incident reportedly happened at Port Orleans Resort and was captured on video, though the footage has since been removed from social media.

Guests who witnessed the topless woman swimming in the river reported it to Cast Members, who allegedly clarified there was no rule against swimming in the river. As per the attire policies listed on the official website,

“Proper attire, including shoes and shirts, must be worn at all times. Clothing that drags on the ground is prohibited in theme parks and water parks. Clothing with multiple layers is subject to search. We reserve the right to deny admission to or remove any person wearing attire that we consider inappropriate or attire that could detract from the experience of other Guests.”

Additionally,

“Guests using the pools, spas, fitness centers or other Disney Resort hotel facilities must also adhere to the rules posted and applicable at those facilities.”

However, Disney recommends avoiding swimming in natural bodies of water at the resort, as Central Florida's waters may harbor dangerous wildlife, such as alligators or harmful bacteria. Despite the entertainment resort’s reputation as a family-friendly destination, exposing private body parts, including toplessness, is not explicitly listed as a violation of the property rules.
