Shawn Corey Carter aka Jay-Z has been accused of s*xually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in 2000 in a lawsuit filed on December 8, 2024. As per reports, the lawsuit was originally filed in October 2024 in which Sean "Diddy" Combs was the defendant but has now included Carter too.

The lawsuit has been filed by an unnamed person who is referred to as ‘Jane Doe.’ She alleged that the two rappers brought her to an MTV after-party in 2000 where they r*ped her. Carter said he was being blackmailed with these allegations by Tony Buzbee, the lawyer representing Jane Doe, to settle in court.

However, in light of these allegations, another person’s name that has resurfaced online is singer and songwriter Jaguar Wright.

Wright was one of Jay-Z’s backup artists on Unplugged on MTV. However, in an interview with Piers Morgan in October 2024, she accused Carter of being involved in similar infamous activities like Diddy, saying his wife Beyonce was a partner in those.

Not only that she claimed that Carter’s deeds were worse than Combs' even though she did not have first-hand knowledge of those happenings. She said,

“For four years, I have been screaming not just Diddy but Diddy and Jay-Z are monsters and the victim-making machine kept going on.”

She also added,

“He starts little fires everywhere, forces everyone involved to go and carry water while he sneaks away without a response.”

Jaguar Wright said she knew people who would testify against Jay-Z

During the interview, Wright claimed that the couple would put unconscious people on planes in addition to doing ‘nasty’ activities.

Later on, the interview host Piers Morgan distanced himself from Wright’s claims after the rapper’s attorneys reached out to clarify that those allegations were false. Morgan acknowledged that in today's world, anyone could have a platform if they shared something that resonated with others. This was the reason they invited her for an interview. However, he emphasized that, like the well-known restrictions on free speech, there are also legal boundaries they must respect. He issued an apology to Jay-Z and Beyoncé for the incident.

Before the lawsuit was refiled on December 8, 2024, the accuser's counsel sent a letter to Carter requesting mediation to resolve the matter, according to Buzbee's filing. In response, Carter initiated legal action against the accuser's attorneys.

In a statement issued the same day, Jay-Z criticized the attorneys' approach, asserting that their assumptions about celebrities were misguided. He emphasized his background, values, and commitment to protecting children, contrasting his principles with the actions taken against him.

According to an NBC exclusive, Jane Doe seeks unspecified damages under New York’s Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act. In his statement, Jay-Z said he was heartbroken for his family, particularly over the impact of the incident on his children. He reiterated that the allegations were baseless and harmful.
