Enola Holmes 3 to reportedly start shooting in two months

It looks like Enola Holmes 3 will return to the screen sooner rather than later. According to What's On Netflix, the filming for the third installment will begin in mid-April 2025.

Enola Holmes first appeared on Netflix in 2020, right in the middle of a pandemic. It introduced viewers to the world of Enola, a young, masterful sleuth who went to London to find her missing mother. Through that, Millie Bobby Brown portrayed another iconic character after her star-making turn in Stranger Things.

This mystery adventure film won over the audience and returned with a second chapter in 2022. After its release, the fans started looking forward to a third chapter. About two years later, Enola Holmes 3 is officially in the plans with the Boiling Point director, Philip Barantini. At the time, the filming was expected to start in early 2025.

The latest update reveals that Enola Holmes 3 will enter the production stage in April 2025. It is supposed to be filmed in different locations across the UK. The shooting process is expected to last for about 12 weeks.

Enola Holmes 3 is officially going on floors soon. It's been over two years since the second installment was released. So, a new film will breathe fresh air into this series. Whether the 2020 film or the 2022 sequel, the Enola Holmes films were a big success for Netflix. They were one of the most-watched movies upon their release. That is hardly surprising considering the robust fanbase behind its star, Millie Bobby Brown.

The films started out as adaptations of the Nancy Springer novel series but were occassionally changed as per convenience. After the second film, the third part was expected by the fans. Eventually, in August 2024, it was officially confirmed. Back then, the sources reported that the filming would begin in the first quarter of 2025. However, no dates were confirmed, nor was a filming duration declared for this project.

Eventually, Deadline reported that Philip Barantini will be directing Enola Holmes 3 instead of Harry Bradbeer. Bradbeer had previously worked on BBC's dark comedy Fleabag. The Enola Holmes movies continued the Fleabag style of narration by breaking the fourth wall.

Now, with Barantini's creative input, the third part is going to be darker than the first two. Baratini will be joined by cinematographer Matthew Lewis, who also shot his famously one-shot film, Boiling Point.

Millie Bobby Brown will reportedly be returning to the cast along with Henry Cavill, Louis Partridge, Susan Wokoma, and Adeel Akhtar. Legendary Entertainment will produce this project in collaboration with Millie Bobby Brown's production company, PCMA Productions.

The filming for Enola Holmes will reportedly start in the UK in April 2025 and continue for about 12 weeks.
