In true Eminem fashion, the rapper has revealed that he will be dropping the Expanded Mourner's Edition of his latest album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), which came out in July, this Friday, September 13, 2024. The announcement, made online via X in a cinematic teaser, has captured the world's attention.

In the ominous clip, Eminem can be seen walking into a gas station convenience store and grabbing a milk carton from the refrigerator. He drops it, and the carton reveals a poster of a missing person on the other side. The missing person? Eminem's alter ego, Slim Shady. He exits the store as producer Alchemist shouts behind him, telling him never to return in a thick New York accent, as Somebody Save Me blares in the background.

Eminem captioned the post:

“MISSING: SLIM SHADY Have you seen him #TheDeathOfSlimShady Expanded Mourner’s Edition drops this Friday the 13th…”

Thus far, it is unclear if fans will be getting any additional tracks different from what was originally released and whether any special guests will be joining him. However, given his cameo in the trailer, Alchemist-produced tracks may be likely. In July, the rapper came out with singles like Houdini, Tobey, and Somebody Save Me.

Fans excited for Eminem's latest announcement, dubbs him the goat

The announcement has left fans teeming with excitement, as seen in the post's comment section.

"The moment news of the VMA’s came thru, some of us figured you might be dropping a deluxe soon. I can’t wait for this," one user replied.
"I’m so hyped," another declared.
"Thank you for blessing us again [goat emoji]," one user thanked.

Several others chimed in with similar sentiments, excited at the prospect of collaborating with Alchemist.

"FINALLY! I was telling Denaun we need you on Alchemist beats!" one exclaimed.
"We finally getting Em on an Alchemist beat? He's been bros DJ for like 15 years and been on one fu****g beat," one user shared.
"I had a feeling this was coming! Thank you for blessing your fans with your music after all of these years, Em. I can't wait to witness more art from the goat. Let's go!!!" one user quipped.

The announcement comes after Eminem's opening performance at the MTV Video Music Awards on September 12, 2024. He last opened the VMAs in 2010, performing solo and a duet with Rihanna. This year, the rapper has been nominated for eight awards.

He will be joined on stage by Sabrina Carpenter, Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello, host Megan Thee Stallion, and Katy Perry, among others.
