Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff has been a central character in Marvel's fourth phase, as the studio explored the stories of all the other characters post-Endgame. Maximoff and her alter ego, the Scarlet Witch, have been one of the most awaited characters in the MCU, as fans have constantly expressed their excitement and curiosity to know Wanda's fate.

Although the character has only had one self-centric project- Wanda Vision, she does seem like an interesting arc the studio can explore further. Elizabeth Olsen is also on board with the idea as the actress discussed what she would like to see as Wanda's future.

Speaking to The Playlist about how she would like to portray Wanda again, Elizabeth Olsen says,

“You know, when I think about my dream version [of Wanda], it’s like 50 years later, and I have white hair— such a big, massive white wig—and gnarly face of wrinkles doing like a Tracy Ullman thing. And I am just like a creature that they find. And that’s how I imagine Wanda’s next journey."

She further adds that her idea stems from one of the instances in comic books, as she continues,

"It’s something I have quite literally pitched. Because it would be so fun to get to do that to me. I mean, I guess in one of the comics, she ages quite quickly, and I think those are the images that are implanted in my brain next because I haven’t done it."

Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff was first introduced in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Subsequently, she appeared alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Avengers: Age of Ultron and fought the Avengers but later joined them as an integral part of the team. She had a significant hand in the battle against Thanos in Avengers: Endgame.

One of the key traits of her character is her romance with Vision, an android created by Ultron who was later taken over by the Avengers, eventually joining them. Vision was killed by Thanos to acquire the Mind Stone.

After the events of that phase, she was seen in her own TV show WandaVision that saw her creating a false reality to be with Vision as they both begin a life in a fictional town called Westview.

The show picks up on darker themes, eventually leading to events that make her an antagonist influenced by the Darkhold, who makes an appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Elizabeth Olsen has previously spoken about wanting to return to the character as she told FM104,

“It’s a character that I love going back to when there’s a way to use her well, and I think I have been lucky that when I started I was used well. I think people didn’t know what to do with me for a second there… if there’s a good way to use her I’m always happy to come back.”
