It appears that Drake wound up cutting his Anita Max Win Tour short in an attempt to get back to his creative roots. He’s been filming videos and teasing new music with the latest coming in the form of a snippet shared on his Finsta account this past Sunday.

It’s unclear whether the unreleased track featuring longtime collaborator 21 Savage is new, or simply something the pair cooked up when gearing up to launch Her Loss in 2022. For now, speculation is the closest thing we have to the facts, although the prospect of the 6 God dropping more new music this year is looking more and more likely.

Drake’s latest mysterious drop, 2025 outlook

The “Waiting to Exhale” snippet was posted via @plottttwisttttt, which is believed to be Drizzy’s finsta. The track opens up with Drake hitting us with some smooth vocals in his signature style,

“Took a deep breath (Yeah), let it exhale/Drizzy always gotta do it big, like an XL (Real big)/Birds, they gon' chirp, like a Nextel (Tweet, tweet)/Only f**ked on her just 'cause s*x sells”

Drizzy also addressed his haters and the diss tracks that emerged last year as a result of his beef with Kendrick Lamar.

“12 years in this bitch, here's to next 12/ni**as sick of me, well then get well….Diss track, sounding like some fan mail/All that preparation and the plan failed.”

Drake seems undeterred by last year’s public feud and appears to lament how infuriating it must be for his opponents; after all the backlash, he’s still very much on top of the game. Initial sales for his collaborative album with PARTYNEXTDOOR, Some Se*y Songs 4 U, seemingly prove that. Moreover, the reception for his “Nokia” video shot exclusively on IMAX (the first music video to do so since Adele's "Hello") only strengthens this claim.

Interestingly, it is the first record of 2025 eligible for diamond certification by the RIAA, meaning that it has moved over one million units since its release just under two months ago. According to the Billboard charts, "NOKIA" is currently sitting at seventh on the Billboard Hot 100, its highest position yet. It even managed to surpass Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us”, bumping the viral diss track to the ninth spot.
