Whoopi Goldberg is not the kind of person who is shy about expressing her opinion.
The actor and comedian has been voicing her opinions on President Donald Trump and his decisions on the morning show. On the show, The View, Goldberg often expresses her concern on several issues related to politics in America.
According to a recent article by Newsweek, Goldberg expressed her concern that President Donald Trump might resort to wrongful deportations including her own. The host of The View expressed her concern on the Monday episode of her show.
Adding to that, Ana Navarro, the co-host, said 'Don't give them any ideas, girl!"
According to Newsweek, the Trump government had deported many alleged Tren de Aragua gang members to El Salvador despite an order by the federal court to bar the deportations temporarily.
On the other hand, authorities have denied the allegations of deportation despite the court's orders and mentioned that the deportations were carried out in compliance with the existing policies.
Whoopi Goldberg spoke in the Hot Topic segment of the show and said that one should keep their eyes open as they can be deported at any time.
"You just gotta keep your eyes open, y'all. Because if they can just come up and take somebody because they've made a decision that you're supposed to be that person, any one of us could find ourselves being deported to some country when we've never been there."
Whoopi Goldberg continued expressing her concern on issues like the privacy of data and the government's access to the personal data of its citizens.
"Listen, you know, it is very clear to me that if we don't continue to say we want—listen, I understand you want to clean out all the old, some bad stuff. I get it, but why do you now have access to my personal information?" Goldberg said. "I get what the things you are trying to do, I don't understand why you're taking my stuff. My personal—not mine personally, but each and every one of you! And your Constitutional right to free speech."
Whoopi Goldberg missed Donald Trump's swearing ceremony
While fans were waiting for Whoopi Goldberg's show after Donald Trump's swearing-in ceremony recently to express her opinion, she decided to skip the broadcast on January 21.
While there were several speculations regarding Goldberg missing the episode, the comedian admitted that she couldn't attend the broadcast due to a prior commitment.
As per Parade, Goldberg revealed that she was in Paris for a week so she couldn't attend the episode.
“I did a layout, a fashion layout, for a company called Ami, and apparently it sort of went through the roof, so they’ve invited me to come and be part of their fashion show in Paris."
She continued by saying that she will continue to do so because she is often asked questions about her looks because she defies the conventional ideas of beauty.
“Because I’ve had so many comments over my career about how odd my looks are and, why don’t I have eyebrows and ‘you’re so weird looking,’ and the ideas of what beauty is and what beauty isn’t. And in the last few years I’ve thought, well, I’m going to tell myself I’m a cute thing!”
While Whoopi Goldberg has not shared her opinion on the inauguration ceremony, she did mention in an episode that she wouldn't be watching the ceremony.
