Disney releases fresh new look for Riri Williams in Ironheart

Disney has released a fresh new look of Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams in the upcoming Ironheart series. The new look reveals Riri Williams in a new suit, ready for action. Marvel fans will immediately notice the similarities between her suit and that of Ironman's. Riri Williams, the meritorious MIT student, created the suit inspired by the Ironman suit made by Tony Stark.

The anticipated Disney series Ironheart, created by Chinaka Hodge, will come out in six episodes and is set to release on 24th June 2025. It was first announced in 2020 at the Disney Investor Day presentation. At the same event, it was announced that Dominique Thorne would be playing the protagonist, Riri Williams, who is also the superhero Ironheart. In February 2022 it was announced that Anthony Ramos will be starring as The Hood, Lyric Ross as Natalie Washington, and Alden Ehrenreich as Joe McGillicuddy.

The series will follow Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams and the character's journey after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022). It will show Riri's return to her home in Chicago, where she uncovers secrets that put technology and magic at odds. This unfurls a journey of chaos and action.

Where did we see Ironheart before?

The Ironheart series is not the first time viewers will be seeing Dominique Thorne as Ironheart. The character was first introduced in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022). Riri Williams is a gifted MIT student who created several innovative gadgets. One of her projects was used by the CIA to find Vibranium outside Wakanda. This made Namor feel threatened about the livelihood of his people, the Talokanil, as Riri's project could reveal Talokan's existence to the world. Hence Riri became Namor's target. At the same time, she had to steer clear of the US government. At such a time, Shuri and Wakandans offer Riri refuge. As the film goes on, a war wages between Wakanda and Talokan. Riri helps the Wakandans win by fighting on their side. This is also when she uses Wakandan technology to build herself a suit that resembles that of Ironman's. She returns to the United States after the war.

Fans have been eagerly waiting for Ironheart to release. After the end of phase 3, there has been a unanimous feeling of dissatisfaction among the fans regarding Marvel's quality of production. As a result, there is considerable pressure on Marvel to do well in their 2025 releases. While the suit shows promise, Ironheart will require a great story, well-written characters, and great cinematography to garner appreciation. Riri Williams was a much-loved character in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022) and will hopefully win hearts in her newest performance as well.
