Basketball power forward Zion Williamson became the subject of online scrutiny for his alleged comment on Joy Taylor’s Instagram post. X account ‘NBACentel’ shared a screenshot of his comment on January 7, 2025. As seen in it, Williamson commented on one of the television host’s posts:
“can I be next?”
Tagging him, Taylor replied:
“Eww no…Blocked.”
It must be noted that the X handle where the screenshot containing the exchanges between the two individuals was posted is a parody account and not an authentic one. The screenshot was likely generated using some online means and is fake.
The post went viral to the extent that it made football player Antonio Brown share his reactions. He took to his X account on January 7, 2025, to reshare the NBACentel post and wrote:
“Ni**a of the Week #CTESPN Zion Williamson Welcome to #CTESPN.”
Joy Taylor found herself in a controversy after stylist Noushin Faraji filed a lawsuit in a Los Angeles superior court, accusing her of having a physical relationship with football players Emmanuel Acho and Charlie Dixon to boost her career as a sports journalist.
Despite the ongoing lawsuit, the TV host did not stop working as she appeared on Fox Sports’ FS1 Speak. It must be noted that she was not the only person to be named in the lawsuit as other personalities, both present and former, were named defendants.
Joy Taylor was also accused of attempting to secure her position at the network by allegedly fabricating a sexual misconduct claim against Dixon after he was no longer beneficial to her.
A peek into the lawsuit accusing Joy Taylor of misconduct
Besides Joy Taylor, Faraji's lawsuit names Dixon, former FS1 host Skip Bayless, and the Fox Corporation. The accusations include s*xual harassment, s*xual battery, retaliation, negligent supervision, and other workplace issues from 2012 to August 2024.
The suit alleged that Bayless offered Faraji $1.5 million for favors, while Dixon is accused of groping her in her private parts. According to Daily Mail, the lawsuit also claimed Joy Taylor of dismissing Faraji's harassment complaints about Bayless and Dixon, as the TV host advised her to move on.
Faraji is also seeking damages for the accusations besides her wrongful termination. The lawsuit claims Taylor mocked Faraji’s accent and involuntary humming, linked to her PTSD.
It also alleged that Taylor sought Emmanuel Acho's recommendation for a program and involved him in a lunch meeting under pretenses. After Faraji reported her concerns to HR, the bullying from Taylor allegedly intensified.
Per an X post by FearBuck, Emmanuel Acho reportedly deleted an Instagram video where he was seen singing praise for Joy Taylor. In the video, Acho said he completed the rehearsal for a new show “Speak” and gave a shoutout to the co-host Taylor. He emphasized the challenges for Taylor, who, being a woman of color, worked her way to the position she reached.
He highlighted the rampant sexism and misogyny in the sports industry which belittled what female personalities had to say in the arena. Acho appreciated her for providing her unique and distinct insights about sports-related matters.
