Reese Witherspoon's video from over a decade ago, where she allegedly disses Blake Lively, is now suddenly going viral. The video, which is from the 2011 MTV Movie Awards, shows the "Legally Blonde" actress allegedly taking a subtle jab at Blake Lively. The clip has resurfaced at a time when Blake Lively is embroiled in a legal drama with actor and director Justin Baldoni, her costar in the movie, "It Ends With Us."

Just last week, Blake Lively was announced as one of TIME's 100 Most Influential People of 2025. In December 2024, Blake Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, accusing him of s**ual harrasment, although the "Everwood" actor has consistently denied the claims. Soon after this, Baldoni countersued the "Gossip Girl" actress for defamation with a $400 million lawsuit, according to People Magazine. Blake Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, have since attempted to get the charges dismissed, but with no success. The case is set to go to trial on 9 March 2026.

More about the incident, as video of Reese Witherspoon allegedly dissing Blake Lively in a 2011 video goes viral

Just before the 2011 MTV Movie Awards, where Reese Witherspoon allegedly dissed Blake Lively, a series of n*de pictures of the actress were released online by an unnamed source. At that time, the "A Simple Favor" actress had denied being in the pictures, adding that the pictures were "100 percent fake." A spokesperson on her behalf said,

"The photos of Blake Lively which have just surfaced on various websites ... are 100 percent FAKE. Blake has never taken nude photos of herself."

In the video, Reese Witherspoon, who had gone up on stage to accept the MTV Generation Award, thanked her fans but is also seen saying:

"I just want to say to all the girls out there, it cool to be bad, I get it, alright, it's cool to be a bad girl. But it is possible to make it in Hollywood without doing a reality show."

The "Home Sweet Alabama" actress further added:

"When I came up in this business, if you made a sex tape, you were embarrassed and you hid it under your bed. And if you took naked pictures of yourself on your cell phone, you hide your face, people."

Apart from Blake Lively, who was sitting in the audience at that time, many fans alleged that the speech was also a direct dig at Kim Kardashian, whose own s*x tapes were released in 2007.

In the latest development, according to Daily Mail, Blake Lively had previously created a phantom subpoena and sued Justin Baldoni months prior to officially launching a case against him. On the other hand, Reese Witherspoon announced on 3 April that a prequel to "Legally Blonde," titled "Elle," is now in production.
