Elon Musk and Jimmy Kimmel have engaged in a war of words on different occasions. The tech mogul has used X to call out the comedian-TV host, while the latter has used his late-night show to jibe at the former.
Amidst their animosity, new rumors have emerged suggesting a real-life fallout between the celebrities. A video from the YouTube channel Elite Vault claims to detail a verbal spat between Kimmel and Musk, following which the latter was reportedly escorted off the show. The clip with a robotic voice-over also asserted that the show never aired, but the footage leaked online.
The AI-generated viral video's claims are fake, which has been confirmed by the fact-checking website Snopes. Neither was Elon Musk kicked off Jimmy Kimmel Live, nor did the interview ever happen.

Furthermore, claims of unaired footage featuring the tech billionaire on ABC’s late-night talk show are false. There is no report or announcement suggesting that Elon Musk has recently appeared on the show.
According to his IMDb page, the Tesla CEO last appeared on the show in February 2013, in Season 10’s Episode 336. The video uploaded by Elite Vault is fictional, as stated in a disclaimer in its description.
Similarly, videos originating from other channels like DriveMax Auto, Vibrant Living, and more are untrue. The content featured on these channels is primarily narration-based clips of fictional accounts.
Elon Musk recently called Jimmy Kimmel “an unfunny jerk”
The tech billionaire and the talk show host are seemingly on opposite ends of the political spectrum. Kimmel has continued to deliver satirical monologues targeting Donald Trump ever since he was sworn in. At the same time, Musk, the US President’s close ally, supported him during his campaign last year.
In the March 18 episode, the talk show host mentioned the vandalization of Tesla cars as a result of a backlash against the CEO. Jimmy Kimmel mentioned sarcastically:
“People have been vandalizing Tesla vehicles… New Tesla vehicles… Please don’t vandalize, don’t ever vandalize Tesla vehicles.”
After the episode aired, Kimmel’s clip went viral on X, and he received backlash from a section of users for his sarcasm. Elon Musk also reacted to the video and called the host “an unfunny jerk,”
“He’s such an unfunny jerk,” Musk wrote on X.
Jimmy Kimmel has continued to criticize Trump and Musk. Last year, Kimmel spoke about Trump’s win and almost got emotional while saying:
“It was a terrible night for women, for children, for the hundreds of thousands of hard working immigrants... for health care, for our climate, for science, for journalism, for justice, for free speech.”
In reaction, Musk wrote on X:
"Kimmel is an insufferable nonsense propaganda puppet"
Kimmel hit back at Musk in the following episode during his monologue. After mentioning Musk’s X post, the host said:
"You bought a social media platform that is literally a propaganda machine. Let me tell you something, if I spent two weeks trying to come up with a four-word description of Elon Musk I don't think I could do better than an insufferable nonsense propaganda puppet.”
Jimmy also proclaimed “everything is propaganda” for Musk.
