Bryan Freedman, the renowned Hollywood lawyer, has found himself amidst one more controversy as the attorney for Justin Baldoni as allegations against the filmmaker continue to surface.
Amber Heard has recently expressed her support for Blake Lively, who has been accusing Baldoni and his PR team of orchestrating a smear campaign against her. Amber Heard remarked that Johnny Depp had used the same PR team against her in the past year.
Though Bryan Freedman has previously been linked to Johnny Depp due to a case, he has never represented the actor. Freedman, in a previous case, represented Bloom Hergott against Depp. Wherein Depp received an eight-figure payment to settle the lawsuit (BBC).
The comments by Amber Heard and the accusations against his client are false and baseless, said Bryan Freedman. In a statement to Deadline, Freedman said:
“TAG PR must be the most powerful group of publicists the world has ever seen for it to be able to completely change the perception of both Amber Heard and Blake Lively."
He argued that the public perception of both actresses was molded by their publicized lives and not manufactured by their PR team.
Amber Heard, who was part of a well-publicized legal battle with her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, responded with a statement addressing the role of social media in spreading false narratives.
Drawing on her own experiences, Heard supported Lively, who filed a sexual harassment and retaliation complaint against Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios, in June (NBC News). Amber Heard remarked:
“Social media is the absolute personification of the classic saying ‘A lie travels halfway around the world before truth can get its boots on.’ I saw this firsthand and up close. It’s as horrifying as it is destructive,”
Bryan Freedman's response to Blake Lively's allegations against Justin Baldoni
Blake Lively, a famous Hollywood actress, accused Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment and retaliation during the filming of the movie It Ends With Us. The complaint was submitted to the California Civil Rights Department.
The New York Times reported that She claimed that Baldoni had made sexually inappropriate comments towards her and contacted a crisis PR expert to spread false information about her.
Bryan Freedman, an attorney representing Baldoni, issued a statement denying the allegations as “false and shameful” and defended Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios, and their representatives.
Freedman stated that the lawsuit was an attempt by Lively to mitigate the negative publicity she had received due to her behavior during the movie promotion. He said:
“Yet another desperate attempt to ‘fix’ her negative reputation which was garnered from her own remarks and actions during the campaign for the film.”
