The daughter of the late country music star Naomi Judd, Ashley Judd is widely known for her successful acting career. She rose to popularity during the late '90s and 2000s and was particularly praised for her roles in thriller dramas such as Double Jeopardy and Kiss the Girls.
The 56-year-old Judd, besides being a well-established actress, is an activist as well. She is well-recognized for her advocacy towards abortion and activism related to women's rights, global humanitarian efforts, and social justice. According to People, she protested a Georgia bill that would prohibit abortion the moment a heartbeat can be detected at the Women in the World summit that took place in New York.
As per People, The Passion of the Darkly Noon actress, in a conversation with journalist Katie Couric, opened up about her personal life and talked bout how she was r*ped multiple times and mentioned that one of the times there was conception. She further continued claiming if there was no option of legal abortion, she would had to raise the kid with her rapist.
The actress/activist has also been quite vocal about her conflict with the Hollywood studio mogul, Harvey Weinstein. She was one of the first persons to have accused Weinstein of s*xual harassment in 1996, during a business meeting. According to Ashley, Harvey, in retaliation, allegedly even tried to ruin her reputation and deliberately destroy her career.
Judd was married to Dario Franchitti, a Scottish racing driver, for 12 years, from 2001 to 2013. Judd talked earlier about still being friends with Franchitti, even after their divorce. However, one might wonder if they had any kids; well, Ashley Judd has no children, never had. Ashley, even in her memoir, All That Is Bitter & Sweet, has touched upon the matter, explaining that it was her choice to not have kids as there are already numerous abandoned and orphaned kids in the world who need love, care, and attention. She also mentioned that she started feeling this way when she was 18 years old.
A docuseries on the Judd family is about to be released soon

The docuseries, The Judd Family: Truth Be Told, directed and executive-produced by Alexandra Dean, will narrate the complicated story of the Judd family. The docuseries will shed light on the famous country singer Naomi Judd and her relationship dynamics with her daughters, Ashley and Wynonna Judd. The official trailer of the docuseries is out.
