Anjelica Huston, the Oscar-winning actress best known for her performances in The Addams Family and Prizzi’s Honor, has quietly revealed that she fought cancer six years ago.

In a recent interview with People Magazine, Huston went public on the past health scare that began after the release of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum in 2019, calling it a “big shock” and a major turning point in her life.

"It came as a big shock, but it made me conscious of what I shouldn't do, of places I shouldn't go. One of those places was taking life too seriously." She stated in an interview.

While Anjelica Huston did not specify what type or stage of cancer she had been diagnosed with, the announcement raised questions among fans and the media about the actress’s lifestyle habits over the years.

While Huston did not directly connect her illness with any lifestyle choices, past interviews provide some insight into her views and experiences with adult and illegal substances, particularly marijuana, cocaine, and even smoking tobacco.

Anjelica Huston has credited Allen Carr's Easyway for helping her stop smoking, a task which she thought was impossible before. According to Allen Carr's website, Huston used to smoke for 30 years. Talking about her experience, she said:

"To give up a thirty year smoking habit literally overnight. It was nothing short of a miracle."

In a 2019 interview with Vulture, Huston acknowledged that she smokes marijuana, but she said she stays away from edibles and no longer does anything “wildly dangerous.”

"I smoke weed, but I don’t consider that a danger to my health. I don’t like edibles. Too slow and you don’t know where it’s going." She said.

In the same interview, she referenced her former use of cocaine. Huston stated that cocaine shouldn't be used as a recreational drug. She described how “bad cocaine” came with many unpleasant side effects.
