Dame Dash is now facing further trouble as he has been asked to pay $4 million to filmmaker and former collaborator Josh Webber. Webber had filed a $4 million defamation lawsuit against him last April. The Roc A Fella co-founder currently has an estimated net worth of $100,000, a sharp contradiction to his fortune with former business partner, rapper Jay Z.

Dame Dash's net worth witnessed a steep decline over the years because of a multitude of lawsuits that were filed against him.

More about Dame Dash's legal troubles

According to AllHipHop, the issue emerged in 2024 when Dash made a series of comments on the "Earn Your Leisure" podcast, alleging that Josh Webber stole from him while working together on the movie "Dear Frank".

In the podcast, Dash says:

"I had a judgment. And I knew this d***head Chris Brown and Josh Webber and Muddy Waters, Chris Brown the lawyer. I went through four trials with the same lawyer. What I lost was defamation because these guys trigger me and steal my sh*t ... you think there is freedom of speech, it's really not,"

Days after this, Webber allegedly lost a $ 4 million business deal to work with Billy Bob Thornton. Soon after this, Webber filed a $ 4 million lawsuit. Now, a year later, as reported by TMZ, Dash has been ordered by the court to pay the amount after repeatedly failing to comply with court orders and attend mediation sessions.

In another video, Dash is seen explaining the reason behind his financial struggle.

"Somebody asked me how I got so broke. Investing in my dreams. You know, when you’re investing in your dreams and you dream big, you’re always gonna be broke. You’ll have a lot of shit, but I don’t have no money for nobody else. If that’s what you call broke. But that’s what it is.”

This is not the first time Dame Dash has been embroiled in controversy. According to Rolling Stone, in 2022, he was ordered to pay $805k after being sued by Josh Webber for "defamation and copyright infringement." Despite no longer being associated with the film, "Dear Frank," the business mogul continued to market it under his name and a new title, "The List."

In order to pay the remaining amount he owed to Webber, Dash's 33.3 percent stake in the Roc-a Fella records were sold off at a public auction. In November 2024, the shares were sold to the State of New York and purchased by an anonymous bidder at $1 million.

Apart from these lawsuits, the Rocawear co-founder has allegedly faced legal issues related to unpaid child support to his ex-wife, Rachel Roy, with whom he shares a daughter. Additionally, Dame Dash has also been under financial difficulties following a 2019 lawsuit by author Edwyna Brooks, who successfully sued him for copyright infringement.
