Cristiano Ronaldo has announced his new film studio, "UR•Marv," with filmmaker Matthew Vaughn. On April 11, 2025, the footballer shared a trailer of the studio on his X account, expressing his excitement about the announcement.

Moreover, he wrote that more details about the venture would be shared in due time. As the video unfolded, these words flashed on the screen:

“Cristiano Ronaldo loves movies. Matthew Vaughn loves sport. And they both together love a good story. They now join forces and present UR•MARV.”

Elsewhere in the video, the message showed:

“Passion and storytelling, a disruptive era in entertainment. Hollywood stars, the story starts soon. Coming soon.”

On April 10, 2025, Ronaldo shared another post mentioning that both the footballer and the filmmaker had made an impact in their own fields and were now teaming up to bring sports and storytelling together. They launched UR•Marv, an independent film studio that aims to mix new technology with traditional filmmaking. In the statement, Cristiano Ronaldo said:

“This is an exciting chapter for me, as I look ahead to new ventures in business.”

Vaughn shared that the footballer had achieved feats in the sport he could never have imagined writing as stories, and he was excited to make inspiring movies with him. The two collaborators had already funded and produced two action films previously.

Cristiano Ronaldo stressed the importance of talent and work

During an interview with WHOOP in 2024, founder Will Ahmed asked Ronaldo about the sacrifices he made to stay at the top for so long. Cristiano Ronaldo said it hadn’t been easy to maintain his level, especially with younger players always trying to prove themselves against him.

He explained that staying in top form physically and mentally was tough, but taking care of his body allowed him to keep going for many years. Despite the challenges, he felt proud to still be competing at the highest level, and that continued to motivate him. Weighing in on the debate between work and talent, the footballer said:

“Talent without work is nothing and work without talent is nothing too. So, I think the both mix up so and of course I have two. I will not say that I have more one than the other one because if you see my old career for the last 20 years my level was high, and this is as you can know it's really tough not only in a football but in any area.”

Cristiano Ronaldo said staying at the top for 20 years was a huge achievement, and continuing to perform at that level gave him motivation. He enjoyed making others happy, especially his family, and believed his success came from both natural talent and a strong work ethic.

When Will Ahmed asked if that work ethic came from his father, Cristiano Ronaldo said it likely came from both his parents and siblings. He believed his childhood and the challenges he faced growing up helped shape who he became and made him mentally stronger to deal with life’s difficulties.
