Over their expansive careers, brothers Marlon and Sean Wayans have teamed up to provide us with some of the funniest films and most memorable gags in recent comedic history. From their beginnings on The Wayans Bros. sitcom to the Scary Movie film series (a spoof of the Scream and other horror franchises), the duo have provided countless guttural laughs to audiences over the years, and Marlon has just come out with some huge news.

As fans continue to clamor for a sequel to their 2004 hit White Chicks, the younger Wayans sibling hinted that the project may eventually see the light of day. In an interview with Good Morning America on the red carpet for the NAACP Image Awards, he stated,

"Hey, you know, I think it's time. Let's get 'Scary Movie 6' done and then we'll go and bring out 'White Chicks 2'"

Once the Good Morning America interview made its rounds online, the overall masses took it as a confirmation that White Chicks 2 had been officially announced. The internet was abuzz, and social media users rejoiced that their years of lobbying had finally paid off. The "news" was even reported by notable and trustworthy accounts, including Complex, among others.

Marlon then took to his Instagram stories to clarify what he had meant in the interview in question. He re-posted the announcement shared by the page alongside a simple message that read,

“Not true at all”

So, while we still don’t have any concrete announcement as of now, the good news for fans of the White Chicks is that a potential sequel has not been denied or shut down outright; it's just not confirmed yet. Time will tell if it materializes or not, but at least there’s still some hope.
