Edgar Wright's upcoming film, The Running Man has just found its game show host. According to Deadline, Colman Domingo is set to star in Wright's latest film in this major role.
Wright's new film will be the second adaptation of Stephen King's eponymous novel, which he wrote under his pseudonym Richard Bachman. Previously, Steven E. de Souza adapted it for Paul Michael Glaser's film, which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger in the leading role. Now, Wright has adapted this iconic novel with co-writer Michael Bacall.
Wright's version will star Glen Powell in the central role of a game show contestant desperately trying to earn money to save his ill daughter as a group of hunters try to kill him to win money. Powell recently received a Golden Globe nod for his performance in Richard Linklater's Hit Man.
Coincidently, Powell will be paired with another Golden Globe nominee. Colman Domingo, who was nominated for his moving performance in Greg Kwedar's Sing Sing, is supposed to star in Wright's new film.

Now, Colman Domingo has also joined the project as the game show host where Glen Powell's character enters as a contestant. Domingo will star in this significant role, previously played by Richard Dawson in the 1987 film.

Paramount Pictures is bringing this dystopian action thriller back to the screen with the Baby Driver director. It is set to be released on Nov 7, 2025.
