Clown In A Cornfield's official trailer is out, and fans cannot get enough of the highly-anticipated upcoming slasher horror film set for a May release in the US (under RLJE Films). With Tucker & Dale vs. Evil director Eli Craig at the helm of the project alongside Smile producer Wyck Godfrey, the 2025 movie promises to do the deserved justice to the slasher genre.
Earlier in 2024, David Howard Thornton's Art The Clown in Terrifer 3 helped bag the franchise a major BO record, and moving forward, the bar has only been set higher for new entries like Clown In A Cornfield. The story has been adapted from Adam Cesare's novel by the same name, and the latest trailer by Shudder has given a sneak peek of Frendo The Clown, a folklore turned mysterious and ruthless antagonist.

Clown In A Cornfield trailer makes it evident that the movie shouldn't be watched alone
Clown In A Cornfield will hit theatres across the United States on May 9, 2025, featuring a star-studded cast comprising Katie Douglas, Aaron Abrams, and Kevin Durand. The newly released trailer sets up a kind of eerie, spooky mood right from the opening scenes as lead Katie Douglas' character Quinn Maybrook (as she travels in a car with a young guy and it's night) gets a toy gift - a jack-in-the box of Frendo The Clown.
The two are seen engaging in an amusing conversation when, out of nowhere, a mysterious figure appears on the road, and the car stops right in time. The tone suddenly shifts to thrill and suspense. The next thing we see is a morning sequence as a vehicle drives along the highway leading to Kettle Springs - the town at the center of the story.
The plot revolves around Quinn, who is new to the town and is planning afresh along with her father (portrayed by Aaron Abrams). The premise is set in the background where the town's Baypen Corn Syrup Factory has suffered a tragic loss following a devastating fire.
Frendo the Clown seemingly has connections to Baypen Corn Syrup, and the local traditions, as well as folklore, make its story even more mysterious. A group of young kids are seen partying near the infamous factory, and one of them dresses as Frendo The Clown to scare Quinn. However, when she later looks at the video that was made, she clearly sees a similar-looking evil figure lurking around the corner.
Soon after, the creepy clown figure makes its on-screen appearance and goes on a killing spree. From mirror apparitions to cornfield hauntings, the trailer only further spikes the element of slasher - not to mention how it balances horror.
