Cosmo Jarvis is set to make a big-screen appearance in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey. He is the latest addition to the star-studded cast of Oppenheimer director's upcoming epic film.
Jarvis recently came to prominence through his role as John Blackthorne in FX's Shogun. The actor will now join the film's gifted cast, which comprises Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Charlize Theron, Himesh Patel, Benny Safdie, Jon Bernthal, Elliott Page, Mia Goth, Will Yun Lee, Samantha Morton, Bill Irwin, Jesse Garcia, and Corey Hawkins. However, only Matt Damon's role has been revealed so far by Universal Pictures:
Christopher Nolan will be the co-producer with his frequent collaborator and wife, Emma Thomas. The film will be the latest adaptation of Homer’s eponymous epic poem. Its official synopsis, per IMDb, currently reads:
"Follows Odysseus in his perilous journey home after the Trojan War, showcasing his encounters with Polyphemus, the Sirens, Circe, and finishing with his reunion with his wife, Penelope."

The Odyssey marks Christopher Nolan's return after the multiple Oscar-winning biopic Oppenheimer. It is an epic drama, currently being shot in Morroco, and will soon head to Sicily, Italy, according to reports from Deadline. There are also rumored reports about its production details, as stated in the X post below:
Nolan has written the screenplay based on Homer's same-name poem. According to the reports, the film will be shot by his frequent collaborator, Hoyte Van Hoytema. Two-time Oscar winner Ludwig Göransson will also collaborate with Nolan again on this project's music.

Cosmo Jarvis is a SAG award winner as a part of the talented ensemble of FX's acclaimed Shogun. He has previously worked in films like Nick Rowland's Calm with Horses, William Oldroyd's Lady Macbeth, and Antonia Campbell-Hughes's It Is in Us All. He was also a part of Netflix's Peaky Blinders alongside Cillian Murphy.
The Odyssey is not the only anticipated project he is set to star in. He is a part of Warfare, an A24 film co-directed by Civil War helmer Alex Garland. He will also co-star with Robert De Niro in Barry Levinson's The Alto Knights as Vincent Gigante. Guy Ritchie's Wife and Dog is another project on his roster.
The Odyssey is currently eyeing a July 17, 2026, theatrical release in IMAX with Universal Pictures.
