Children Of Blood And Bone: The much-anticipated upcoming fantasy adaptation drops major cast updates

The much-anticipated fantasy film adaptation Children Of Blood And Bone has lined up a new set of cast members and Zackary Momoh is one of the notable names on the list. The upcoming movie is an adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi's bestselling novel by the same name. Adeyemi has also worked as a screenwriter on the movie alongside Gina Prince-Bythewood.

An open casting call took place in Nigeria for choosing actors for the film. Multiple stars are now on-board for the 2027 project. Adeyemi took to her Instagram to declare the winners of the casting call alongside names of other notable artists who have joined the cast.

Some of the names include Saniyya Sidney (from American Horror Story: Roanoke), Kola Bodunde (known from Dead Fun) and Pamilerin Ayodeji (previously worked in Mikolo).

Besides the above-mentioned cast members, the other names comprise Temi Fagbenle, Richard Mofe-Damijo (from Namaste Wahala), Shamz Garuba (from Dear Dianne) and Ayra Starr. Most of the roles have not been specified yet and some of the characters are yet to be named.

Children Of Blood And Bone is reportedly eyeing a January 2027 premiere. Paramount Pictures is the film's distributor.

"A woman blessed with magical powers by the gods and living in a place where you are forbidden to use them, teams up with a princess to summon the gods and bring down the oppressive regime."

Children Of Blood And Bone is set for a theatrical release in the United States on January 15, 2027. Director Gina Prince-Bythewood joined the project back in 2023 and now she is set to bring Adeyemi's 2018 romantic fantasy piece to life in association with Temple Hill Entertainment.

The story revolves around a magical realm in Africa. A clan loses its supernatural powers to an oppressive ruler. With the thirst of regaining what is rightfully theirs, a young and enthusiastic woman chronicles on a dangerous mission alongside her brother.
