Daredevil star Charlie Cox reveals that he would like to reprise his role in the Spider-Man film.
During his recent interview with GQ magazine, Charlie Cox shared his opinion about his role in the Marvel universe. He has previously starred in Spider-Man: No Way Home alongside Tom Holland's Peter Parker. The film's multiverse storyline allowed Cox's Daredevil character to fit into its equation. It allowed him to reprise this role beyond the Netflix series that brought him much love and recognition.
With MCU entering its new phase in 2025, Cox's fans might be wondering whether he will return to the universe in another Spider-Man film. Cox seems open to this idea, according to his recent interview with GQ.
“I think it’s more possible than it’s ever been, yeah. I would love to be in one of the Avengers films, or another Spider-Man, or something like that. For a couple of reasons."
Cox explains the reasons that his character can make sense in another Marvel film.
"Over the years I have become a geeky fan of the character, and I weirdly, for the character’s sake, feel like it’d be really cool for him to get that kind of upgrade. I would also just love it in terms of what it would do for my chances of getting other movie roles.”
Can Charlie Cox reprise his Daredevil role in a Marvel project? Answer explored
Charlie Cox first played Matt Murdock in Netflix's Daredevil, which ran till 2018. Around this time, he also became a part of The Defenders, another Marvel-adjacent project on Netflix, where he reprised his Daredevil role. Soon, he will star again as Matt Murdock in Daredevil: Born Again, a Disney+ series set to debut on March 4, 2025.
While that is true, Cox is also interested in playing this blind lawyer in a Marvel film. The actor previously appeared in Tom Holland-led Spider-Man: No Way Home, which showed his union of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Peter Parkers across multiverses.
It opened the MCU to a whole new set of possibilities that allowed its characters to seemingly coexist. So, Charlie Cox's reappearance in a Marvel film is highly possible, even though it has not been confirmed yet.
Marvel's Captain America: Brave New World has just hit the theaters and their two other projects - The Fantastic Four: First Steps and Thunderbolts*. There is also an upcoming Spiderman movie in the plans besides two Avengers films, any of which can bring Charlie Cox's character to the screen.
