Taron Egerton's Carry-On carries on its fruitful run this week on Netflix, with the film about to reach 100 million views on the streaming platform according to Tudum, a companion site of the platform.
Last week, Carry-On garnered 42 million and added 55 million now. It stands in the number one spot at the time of writing.
While fans on IMDb don't appear to be into this action thriller as the film sits there with a rating of 6.5, it gained much love from the Rotten Tomatoes audience, where it is certified fresh, holding 88% in ratings.
Moreover, it currently sits in the top 10 movies in over 90 countries and it found the #1 spot in most of them.
Carry-On sits stock still on the Netflix top
A Christmas flick called Our Little Secret, starring Lindsay Lohan, was on the top before Taron Egerton's film was released. Now it seems like the film isn't moving from there, at least for now. The Lindsay Lohan film has slipped to number 6 as of now.
However, another film, namely The Six Triple Eight, is seemingly giving competition to Egerton's film. It has garnered 14 million views already since its Netflix release on December 20, 2024, and this is its first week only in the top 10 chart.
Dr. Seuss' The Grinch made a return to the club again earlier in December 2024; currently, it sits at number three, making this week its tenth in the chart. Other films in it remain That Christmas, Terminator: Dark Fate, The Protege, and more.
With context to the most watched Netflix movies of all time, Red Notice is at the top with 230 million views, followed by Leonardo DiCaprio's Don't Look Up and Ryan Reynolds' The Adam Project.
If Carry-On continues this run; it is likely to enter this chart too. Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is currently at number 10 with 136 million views.
Taron Egerton has delivered some eye-catching performances in films like Rocketman and Tetris but fans know him as Eggsy from the two Kingsman movies that got him mainstream attention. Both of them, along with a prequel, are available on Netflix.
There is no public detail as to how long the license agreement between the streaming platform and Carry-On stretches so there is a great chance for the film to reach the most-viewed films of all time on the platform before leaving.
