The seemingly isolated MCU film is again the talk of the town, thanks to Captain America: Brave New World, which is bringing back a few characters from The Incredible Hulk, putting Edward Norton in the shoes of Bruce Banner (a role later taken over by Mark Ruffalo).

Returning from the 2008 film are Samuel Sterns (Tim Blake Nelson), Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross (Harrison Ford), and Betty Ross (Liv Tyler). Bringing Liv back was really a cakewalk, as Julius Onah puts it, during his latest discussion about the fourth Captain America film. Today marks a week for February 2025 and we will have the film hitting theaters exactly a week after; that would be Valentine's Day.

Betty will have a significant impact on Ross in Captain America: Brave New World

It wasn't just Jonah telling us about bringing Liv Tyler back; it was how she will impact Thaddeus Ross in Captain America: Brave New World. That itself, was the essence of this part when he sat for a discussion about the film with The Official Marvel Podcast. He said,

"It was sort of a no-brainer to bring Liv back. She just has this real humanity to her.. The relationship she ends up having with Thaddeus Ross in this film is a real big part of his journey of trying to cement his legacy and redefine who he has been as a human being and as a leader."

The most interesting part will be how Marvel Studios will fill in this 17-year gap, and that's the same for Samuel Sterns, who is now The Leader in the film. If we jog our memory back, Tim Blake was seen smiling while his head appeared like blobs were bouncing off inside it.

Another rumor in the air is that Mark Ruffalo is likely to make a cameo in the film too. He sort of confirmed that it's true, but then Variety reported Ruffalo was just too enthusiastic at the moment and misspoke that. We know the Marvel Cinematic Universe's history, so let's just wait for the film.

It will make sense, though, if he appears in the film. Red Hulk isn't someone a Falcon or a Captain America can take head-on; they sure will need a big guy in there. That said, his chances of showing up in Captain America: Brave New World are high.

And that's not really the interesting part. That would be if he came face to face with Betty, especially considering that Natasha Romanoff is no more in the MCU.
