Captain America: Brave New World is the 35th Marvel Cinematic Universe film and the fourth installment in the long-running Captain America franchise. Directed by Julius Onah, the film stars Sam Wilson as the new superhero after the Chris Evans trilogy came to an end.

The film was released on February 14, 2025, after its premiere at the TCL Chinese Theatre. There is a post-credit scene in the film that has made some buzz. Recently, Onah (who is also the film's co-writer and co-producer) revealed it was he who had decided on that particular scene. So let's find out what exactly he said.

In an interview with Collider, Julius Onah spoke about the post-credit scene of Captain America: Brave New World. He added that there was a scene and everything was in place. Then the 2023 writers strike halted everything and he was not sure what the release order of all Marvel films would be. So he decided to hold the shooting of its post-credit scene. Subsequently, he shot one of the two stingers in a last-minute effort.

He said,

"That was shot during our additional photography [...] That's what I mean about [how] all this is planned ahead of time. We didn't know what our post-credit scene was going to be just yet. As you know, there was a massive writers strike, so that meant it was pencils down not just on this movie, but pencils down on everything in film and TV. Nothing was happening. So, who knew what 'Thunderbolts*' was going to look like, necessarily? Or the next 'Avengers' was going to look like?"

In the post-credit scene of Captain America: Brave New World, we see Samuel Sterns (Tim Blake Nelson) getting imprisoned inside the Raft which is made for supervillains. Sam goes to see him and gets a warning from him. Sterns says asks him if he believes this is the only world and warns that they will need to protect the place from 'others'. His dialogue hints at the possibility of alternate universes in the MCU which will be explored in the next Avengers films.

Onah has written the screenplay with Rob Edwards, Peter Glanz, Dalan Musson, and Malcolm Spellman while the story is by Spellman, Edwards, and Musson. The film is produced by Kevin Feige and Nate Moore under the Marvel Studios banner.

Captain America: Brave New World was released on February 14, 2025, by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.
