California's devastating wildfires, most recently the Palisades Fire, have left destruction across the state, forcing tens of thousands of residents including many celebrities, out of their homes.
Cameron Mathison, who starred in All My Children, was first among a list of celebrities to post a devastating video from his Pacific Palisades home that was left in ruins due to the ongoing wildfire. Additionally, he shared haunting photos of the burnt-out shell of the house where he raised his children in an emotional Instagram post.
Despite the loss, Mathison said he was thankful that his family is safe and sent prayers to others affected. “This is what’s left of our beautiful home,” he wrote, adding, “Sending so many prayers to everyone being affected by these fires.”
He had purchased the Pacific Palisades property in 2012 for $1.672 million.
This Is Us star Mandy Moore also fled her home with her family. Moore evacuated with her three kids, dog, and cats, finding shelter with friends. She wrote on Instagram about how she had been dealing with the sadness and fear of the situation.
Mandy Moore posted an Instagram story on January 7 addressing the situation in which she wrote:
“Grateful for the kindness of friends that we had a place to land last night. Trying to shield the kids from the immense sadness and worry I feel."

Mark Hamill, the Star Wars legend, also had to evacuate his house. Hamill said that he was forced to leave his home at the last minute but was able to seek refuge at his daughter Chelsea Hamill’s home in Hollywood.
Dan Levy, the star of Schitt’s Creek, shared his perspective on social media with a photo of thick smoke covering the sky (E! News).
Actor James Woods evacuated his house but later posted on social media that the smoke alarms in his home were still going off remotely. On the other hand, Paris Hilton announced her Malibu house was destroyed in the fires. Announcing the devastating news on social media, she said she had watched the tragedy unfold live on television.
Chris Pratt, a star of the Marvel movies, posted to Instagram commending the bravery of firefighters and first responders who were putting themselves in danger to save residents' homes.
Other actors and TV stars affected by the fire include Ben Affleck, Sandra Lee, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and many more.
California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass have declared a state of emergency, freeing up resources to respond to the fires and assist those displaced.
