Why did Cameron Diaz take such a long break from Hollywood?
It's been a decade since Cameron Diaz showed up on screen and fans were pretty thrilled to see the actress back in action for Back In Action. The actress recently spoke to E!News about why she decided taking a hiatus from Hollywood was the right thing to do. Diaz talked about wanting to have a manageable life and how she chose to have a more normal life. She said,
"It felt like the right thing for me to reclaim my own life, and I just really didn't care about anything else."
She then added how her choice was backed by her desire to work on her family and give time to her personal life, saying,
"Nobody's opinion, nobody's success, no one's offer, no one's anything could change my mind about my decision of taking care of myself and building the life that I really wanted to have. I think it really comes to what are you passionate about? For me, it was to build my family."
However, her comeback on screen was motivated by her co-star Jamie Foxx. Diaz talked about how she was adamant about him being the only co-star she would want to work with if she returned to the screens. Foxx was also the actor she last worked with before vanishing from the industry.
“If there’s anyone I’m gonna go back and spend months on end on set having a ball laughing with it would be Jamie."
