Cameron Diaz recently shared her views on her return to acting. “No more rom-coms, only mom-coms.” is her new rule.
Diaz, who previously starred in Annie (2014), is returning to acting with Netflix's Back in Action. This new thriller shows her appearing on the screen after 11 years. A while ago, the actress called herself "retired," reportedly for personal and professional reasons. However, the Netflix thriller brings good news to the Charlie's Angels star, who remained semi-retired for almost a decade.
While Cameron Diaz is officially "back in action" with the new film, she has a new way of choosing her projects. During her interview for Complex, she clarified her stance on her return. Here's what she said:
“I don’t know how I view it. It’s hard to say. If I say it then it becomes this thing. I reserve the right to say no to doing a movie ever again, and I reserve the right to say yes if I decide to. I’m not defining anything. I’m just open to whatever makes sense for me and my family at any given moment.”

Cameron Diaz is gracing the screens again with her acting in Netflix's Back in Action. This time, she is playing a former CIA spy who needs to return to her profession after abandoning it for numerous years. Her character's journey sounds mildly similar to her return to her profession, as her new film is coming out after 11 years.
Besides the film and its shooting, Cameron Diaz has also returned to promotional press tours with her co-star Jamie Foxx. The duo was recently interviewed by Complex about their new project. During this interview, Diaz revealed whether and how she plans to continue acting. According to this conversation, she has not made any concrete plans about her future in movies but is open to working on new projects.
However, this time, she has a particular condition about what kind of movies she would like to be in.
“No more rom-coms, only mom-coms."
Cameron Diaz called it her new rule. The actress is known for her past performances in Charlie's Angels (2000), The Mask (1994), There's Something About Mary (1998), and Vanilla Sky (2001). In 2000, her performance in Michel Gondry's Being John Malkovich earned her a BAFTA nomination. Her previous feature film project also starred her Back in Action co-lead Jamie Foxx, an Oscar-winning actor known for his performances in Ray (2004), Django Unchained (2012), Collateral(2004), and Dreamgirls (2006).
