Instagram influencer Mark Hanalla, aka @youwontbelievemeofficial, took to the platform to share an ominous video about a Las Vegas sphere, which has since gone viral. In it, he talks about a dome that initially seems ordinary but soon starts flashing what he calls "subliminal messages." Projected on the dome is a smiley face, which quickly cuts to a run-through of a couple of words.
In the video, we can see that some of the words are "anti-Christ," "racist," and "bomb." Hannala claimed that the video was taken by some people "just sitting and enjoying the sphere while they're in their hotel room." He claims that suddenly, it starts "flashing these subliminal messages." The people in the background can be heard expressing their shock upon noticing the Las Vegas sphere.
Captioned over the clip was the following:
"Just having fun watching the dome until... These subliminal messages started to come up. They're trying to show us the truth, it's right in front of our face people! This is crazy."
The internet reacts to the Las Vegas sphere as some claim there is something "far more sinister" going on
However, the internet quickly dissected the video, with many noting that it was just a part of the event happening inside. "Calm down, it's a U2 concert," one user pointed out.
Regardless, more social media users joined to share their theories about the Las Vegas sphere and/or poke fun at such an idea.
"watching conspiracists struggle with the very idea of aesthetics and theatrics in performance is hilarious. you think you’re uncovering secret truth in the light show but it was almost certainty made by a production assistant told to make “cool, transgressive, edgy” plain text," one user stated.
"During the pre show for a big UFC event last night, dozens of words quickly flashed across the Las Vegas Sphere in the background as these two men were talking about the fight. They go by so fast you can barely catch it! but that is how subliminal messages work.. on a subconscious level your brain is able to process it even though you might not realize it at the moment. Here are just some of the words I was able to catch at 0.25 speed R@c1st - Everything You Know Is Wrong - War - Cult HELL - Watch More TV - Fear - Alien," another user shared.
"You can’t be this dumb. Where were you in the 90’s..," another user quipped.
Several others pointed out that it was just the concert and nothing more.
"Congratulations. U2 Got free advertising and marketing for the concert movie now showing at the Sphere thanks to this post," someone claimed.
"Don't even trip, these were the same words displayed when u2 played the sphere, it's not even that serious," another user said.
One user, Wall Street Apes, took to X to pitch their theory about the Las Vegas sphere. In the caption, they said it's "almost as if a subliminal message was being shown." They then responded to the comments, saying it was a U2 concert and noting that "no, it's not."
"The words are not even remotely close to the order that’s been used in the past. (See these images as proof) The words used in the Las Vegas Sphere show very different deliberate messaging"
In a follow-up post, they added that this is seemingly "far more sinister."
U2 is a rock band from Ireland comprising Bono, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr. They recently performed in Las Vegas for their immersive concert film, “V-U2,” which was directed by Morleigh Steinberg and The Edge and was held at the Las Vegas Sphere.
