Brooke Shields breaks down in tears as husband Chris Henchy surprises their daughter on her birthday

Fit and Fabulous actress, Brooke Shields, broke down in tears after her husband, Chris Henchy, surprised them for their daughter's 19th birthday party. Shields and her two daughters sat down for dinner to celebrate the birthday when Henchy walked into the room, to their surprise.

The actress took to Instagram on April 24 to capture the moment by posting a video, where Henchy can be seen walking into the room, causing the birthday girl, Grier, to cry happy tears and Shields getting up from her seat to give Henchy a hug and a kiss. In the caption, Shields wrote,

"Dad of the century suprised @grierhenchy for her birthday...but really he surprised me and @rowanhenchy too!!! We all cried...he said it was just a flight (red heart emoji)"

Brooke Shields and Chris Henchy have been married for over 20 years after the two tied the knot in 2001. The couple shares two daughters, Grier Henchy, 19, and Rowan Henchy, 21.

Brooke Shields and Chris Henchy met after a chance encounter while working with Warner Bros in Los Angeles in 1999. Henchy is a screenwriter and producer and boasts credits on the hit HBO show Entourage, sitcom Spin City, and other blockbuster comedy movies.

They got engaged in July 2000 during a vacation to Mexico, and tied the knot in a small ceremony on Catalina Island in California in April 2001. They exchanged vows in a second ceremony in Palm Beach, Florida, and welcomed their first daughter, Rowan, in May 2003.

While opening up about her two-decades-long marriage to Henchy in an exclusive interview with Us in May 2024, Brooke gave marriage advice, saying,

"Always have forgiveness in your heart, but make sure that you communicate about it. Don't just give forgiveness and say, 'Oh, well, I gues this is the way it is.' Or, 'Oh, I'll forgive that behavior', or (do it) just to keep the peace."

In April 2006, the couple welcomed their second daughter, Grier. The actress took to Instagram to post a sweet tribute to her daughter, Grier, earlier this month, saying,

"My baby isn't a baby anymore. Happy 19th birthday, Grier! I love you, and I'm so proud to be your mom. Xx"

While talking about her daughters growing up, Brooke, in her 2025 memoir, Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed To Get Old: Thoughts on Aging as a Woman, said that it has been freeing to have a happy nest as both her daughters move to university.
