Drake kicked off 2025 in style in The Land Down Under, where he debuted his Anita Max Win tour on February 4th. Fans filled up the sold-out show at the RAC Area in Perth as Drizzy graced the stage and started the tour off with a deliberate message to his haters: I’m still here.
What’s more is that the Canadian rapper managed to go viral for several parts of his performance, most notably his drip. Here, Drake can clearly be seen wearing a hoodie, but it’s the furthest thing from basic swagger. It’s littered with what looks like bullet holes, with real smoke even emanating through the garment’s backside. This is clearly loud flex from the artist who has been under fire since his infamous feud with Kendrick Lamar in 2024 and the subsequent fallout.
It's also of note that this type of response is fully on brand for the artist who typically uses more subliminal jabs to respond to his detractors. The context of his outfit as part of the beef, paired with his absence from the Grammys prompted fans to flood the comments sections.
Drake's Closing Statement
"I love you dearly," Drake told concertgoers. "My name is Drake, I started doing music in 2008, I come all the way from Toronto, Canada. The year is now 2025, and no matter what, Drizzy Drake is very much alive."
More Reactions
Once the show came to an end, it wasn’t long before netizens everywhere would take the opportunity to weigh in.
It's clear that reactions were split in regards to his fit, but one way or another, Drake made a statement for sure. It's also a testament to his body of work that the energy at his shows and response to his music remains undeterred. Even Kanye West, who has a tumultuous history with the rapper, doesn't believe he should ever be counted out.
Drake is making his first appearance in Australia since 2017 and has a total of 16 shows scheduled for this leg of his tour. Anita Max Win will officially be wrapping on March 16th in Auckland, New Zealand.
The track list for the show is comprised of a dizzying array of 41 songs that span across the two-hour show. Fans can expect an eclectic blend of the old and the new, providing every person in attendance with something concrete to look forward to at his set.
