Several artists were spotted wearing a blue pin in the shape of a heart at the 67th Grammy Awards on February 2, 2025. The blue pin represents MusiCares fire relief fundraising efforts, for the massive destruction in the region last month due to the LA wildfires.
The Grammys went through with hosting the ceremony anyway, though several other events have been axed. However, the evening was kicked off with a tribute to all the victims of the fire, as well as the first responders.
"Of course, we’re going to honor music, but our goal is to utilise music to make a difference," said CEO of The Recording Academy, Harvey Mason Jr.

Marie Claire has reported that the funds raised from the ceremony, hosted at Los Angeles's Crypto.com arena, will be donated to charities like the Pasadena Community Foundation, Direct Relief, and the California Community Foundation.
Ahead of the ceremony, The Recording Academy said in a statement obtained by Glamour:
"This year's GRAMMY Awards will carry a renewed sense of purpose: raising additional funds to support wildfire relief efforts and honoring the bravery and dedication of first responders who risk their lives to protect ours. In times of crisis, such as natural disasters or other emergencies, we can show music's power to unite and uplift, and support the Los Angeles relief efforts in meaningful ways.”
The California wildfires claimed the lives of 29 people and decimated hundreds of thousands of homes within 24 days. Part of the show of support includes the blue pins, worn by several of this year's nominees.
About the blue heart and white music note, The Recording Academy has stated that it
“symbolizes the massive support being organized by the Recording Academy and our partners to help communities devastated by the Southern California wildfires.”
Among celebrities seen sporting the blue pin were Brittany Howard, Jaden Smith, Jacob Collier, and Green Day’s Mike Dirnt.
“I don’t think there’s ever been a more important time for music than right now. It has alchemic properties and can cut through all the defenses we have as people to heal us in a very specific way. I’m so proud and honored to be here at the Grammys. The Grammys have never stood for more to pivot to support the people in need right now with these crazy fires. It’s a really inspiring thing to witness,” Collier told Variety on the red carpet.
Variety has reported that well over $4 million has been disbursed to 3,000 music community members who were victims to the inferno.
