Lively seemingly clicked the selfie during a baking session with her family. Before posting the photo with Reynolds, the Another Simple Favor star also shared pictures of horse-like cupcakes made by her kids. She even wrote on one of her Instagram Stories,

“The family that bakes together… Stays sick on buttercream together”

Reynolds shares four children with the Gossip Girl actress. They married in 2012 and are well-known for engaging in husband-wife banter on social media with their humorous remarks. Apart from their unique dynamic, Ryan has been quite supportive of her wife in her legal feud with It Ends with Us co-star.

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively made a public appearance in February 2025 at the 'SNL 50: The Anniversary Special'

The Deadpool & Wolverine star and The Shallows actress publicly appeared last month. They attended SNL 50: The Anniversary Special, where Ryan Reynolds was also involved in a brief comedic bit. Reynolds stood up during the Audience Q&A with the hosts Amy Poehler and Tina Fey. When asked, ‘How’s it going?’ the Canadian actor replied,

“Great! Why, what have you heard?

Many felt the response was a jibe at the It Ends with Us controversy and Justin Baldoni’s lawsuits. Justin Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, also had his say on the alleged joke around the situation. He appeared on Hot Mics with Billy Bush and said,

“I’m unaware of anybody, frankly, whose wife has been s**ually harassed and has made jokes about that type of situation. I can’t think of anyone who’s done anything like that. And… So it surprised me.”

The controversy between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni started before their respective lawsuits. The filmmaker-actor wasn’t much involved with the promotions of It Ends with Us, as the tensions between him and Lively were being reported.

In December 2024, Lively filed a complaint against Baldoni for s**ual harassment. She also alleged that the 41-year-old and producer Jamey Heath hired a crisis management team to malign her reputation. The allegations were also covered by The New York Times in a story.

Baldoni filed a lawsuit against NYT, accusing the newspaper of publishing an “unverified and self-serving narrative.” The suit also alleged that The New York Times used “cherry-picked and altered communications stripped of necessary context.”

Based on her previous complaints, Blake Lively’s team officially filed a lawsuit against her It Ends with Us co-star. In response, Baldoni’s lawyer claimed to sue the actress “into oblivion” when he appeared on The Megyn Kelly Show. He told the host,

“Wait ‘til you see this lawsuit. It’s all going to be based on evidence, and it’s not going to be just a lawsuit. It’s going to be the kind of lawsuit that is full of evidence, admissions and documents that prove exactly what she did and how she bullied her way through the process to take over the movie and used her PR people to try and destroy Justin.”

Almost a week later, Justin Baldoni countersued Lively, Reynolds, and their publicist, Leslie Sloan, with a $400 million lawsuit. The actor accused them of civil extortion, defamation, and invasion of privacy.
