Black Heat: The upcoming thriller film starring Jason Mitchell to hit theatres this March

Jason Mitchell will soon be back on the big screen with Wes Miller's upcoming thriller film titled Black Heat. According to the latest reports, the movie is set for a theatrical premiere on March 28, 2025, in the United States.

Co-star Tabatha Robinson aka DreamDoll, the famous rapper, will play one of the lead roles alongside Mitchell. Well-known YouTuber cum musician NLE Choppa is also a part of the cast, per reports.

The story revolves around the dangerous mission of two parents (portrayed by Jason Mitchell and Tabatha Robinson respectively) as they try to save their daughter from the clutches of bad men. The official synopsis of Black Heat, per IMDb, reads:

"One night, two parents, out of options, infiltrate a top level drug dealer/pimp's apartment complex to rescue their teenage daughter."

Black Heat to hit theatres this March

According to reports, Jason Mitchell will play the protagonist for Black Heat alongside co-star Tabatha Robinson. The duo will be featured as two parents whose daughter has been abducted by a mysterious personality named King David (NLE Choppa portrays).

They approach the concerned authorities for help but are turned down anyway. Struck by despair and out of unparalleled love for their teenage daughter, the two of them decide to take matters into their own hands. Mitchell and Robinson's avatars (names of the roles are yet to be revealed) thus embark on a fatal mission to bring their child back home.

BLacklight is reportedly producing the movie Black Heat with Wes Miller overseeing the project. Per Deadline, the plotline of the much-anticipated thriller has been described as a blend of "suspense, drama, and unexpected twists".

Per Deadline, Wes Miller reportedly mentioned in a statement the induction of BLacklight has been "a dream come true" for him and his partners. According to his statements, Miller's main aim is to let "unfiltered energy" be portrayed in motion pictures once again. His exact words, per Deadline, were:

"BLacklight is about bringing that raw, unfiltered energy back to the big screen—the kind that spoke directly to us in the ‘70s and defined a generation in the ‘90s."

From BLacklight, Andrew van den Houten (the co-founder of BLacklight) is also reportedly joining in alongside co-producer Joseph O’Connor. Lead star Jason Mitchell is one of the executive producers as well. Among others in the production team, we have:

Jason Mitchell gained popularity in Hollywood owing to his 2015 biographical drama Straight Outta Compton where he played the part of Eazy - E aka Eric Lynn Wright, the late American rapper. Mitchell has also been a part of the Kong franchise and was cast in one of the lead roles in Kong: Skull Island (2015).
