Billy Ray Cyrus’ ex wife Firerose reacts to Elizabeth Hurley relationship reveal

Billy Ray Cyrus’ former wife, musician Firerose is breaking her silence on the new relationship between Cyrus and Elizabeth Hurley.

In wake of her ex-husband’s new relationship, Firerose has clarified that all her focus is towards her music and her career. In a public statement, her representative stated:

“Firerose is currently focused on her music, which continues to inspire new souls globally every day.”

Continuing, the statement also referred to the healing process she has gone through, adding,

“She’s rising in her next chapter of artistic evolution, which reflects the profound strength, healing and transformation she’s been forged through…She’s living her purpose by uplifting others out of the darkness with God’s love at the forefront.”

This statement comes days after country star Billy Ray Cyrus and actress/ model Elizabeth Hurley’s new romance was confirmed.

On Easter, Hurley and Cyrus seemed to celebrate their relationship when the two posted an image of Cyrus kissing Hurley on the cheek as they were seen observing a cozy and peaceful Easter Sunday together.

Later, an inside source confirmed to People Magazine that Cyrus and Hurley have been together, and make each other very happy. The source said,

“Liz is great and visited him for Easter. They’ve been seeing each other romantically for a little bit. And how lucky is he? Liz is lovely. She’s very warm, positive and the best to be around.”

The source also confirmed that Cyrus first met Hurley on the sets of a holiday movie they worked on in 2022. The source added,

"They had a great time shooting that movie together — it was beautiful and relaxed, and it really stuck with him”

Billy Ray Cyrus and Firerose’s marriage explored

Billy Ray Cyrus was previously married to Tish Cyrus from 1993 to 2022. The former couple share five children together, Miley, Noah and Brandi, and sons Trace and Braison.

The Australian-born Firerose, whose legal name is Joanna Rose Hodges, worked with Cyrus on her single, New Day in 2021. In 2022, the two ignited relationship rumors which intensified when they posted selfies in which she showed off a diamond ring on her ring finger.

In August that year, the couple confirmed their engagement to People Magazine. They tied the knot in October 2023. By next year, however the relationship had soured. In May 2024, Cyrus filed to have the marriage annulled, listing “inappropriate marital conduct” as a reason, as per US Weekly.

The former couple’s split was far from amicable. A source cited by People Magazine said,

"She isn’t the person he thought he married. He believes she married him so he [could] take care of her financially.”

Cyrus filed for a restraining order against Firerose, claiming the singer made unauthorized financial transactions in his name; while she later alleged that she had been a victim of domestic abuse, according to US Weekly. The former couple’s divorce was granted in August 2024.

As per People Magazine, a statement released by Cyrus’ lawyers at the time announced the divorce. The statement read:

“This past Friday the parties reached a settlement agreement at mediation to dissolve their 7-month marriage, and the Court declared the parties divorced this morning. Mr. Cyrus is relieved to put this nightmare behind him”

Another source told People Magazine that Firerose made the decision to reach a speedy resolution in order to end her troubled relationship with Cyrus.
