Ayesha Howard and Anthony Edwards have been embroiled in a paternity lawsuit over the past year. In latest development, it has been reported that basketball star Edwards allegedly paid $1million in child support to the social media personality Howard in a single payment. However, Howard now claims the rumor is false, in an exclusive interview with The Shade Room.
In the interview, she says:
"There are no court documents, motions, or proceedings that have occurred, nor have I been offered or agreed to such terms.”
Ayesha Howard filed a lawsuit for child support against the Minnesota Timberwolves player after the birth of their daughter, Aubri Summer Howard. The main issue arose when, despite being proven as the father, Edwards reportedly refused to pay child support, stating that he had no intention to seek visitation rights of his newborn daughter.
Anthony Edwards' legal team argued that Howard had relocated to California in an attempt to benefit from the state's child support laws, whereas the NBA player wanted the case to be governed by Georgia law. According to In Touch Weekly, the judge later ruled in favor of Edwards, meaning the case will be decided according to the laws prevalent in Georgia.
More about Ayesha Howard allegedly receiving upfront child support payment from Anthony Edwards
Neither Ayesha Howard or Anthony Edwards has made any announcement regarding the alleged upfront payment of child support.
According to In Touch Weekly, Anthony Edwards filed a motion in court to prevent the public release of his and Ayesha Howard's text messages, arguing that they portray him in a negative light, and this in turn has impacted his ability to play.
This is not the first time Anthony Edwards has been embroiled in paternity lawsuits. He is currently in a legal battle with ex-girlfriend Alexandria Desroches, who gave birth to a son, Amir, in July 2024. According to In Touch:
The NBA star noted the parties were never married. He admitted he has “engaged in genetic testing, which has shown that he is the father of the minor child.”
Edwards requested that the case be resolved under Georgia law, although Alexandria, who now resides in New York, reportedly wants the case to be governed by the laws of New York.
In addition to his children with Ayesha Howard and Alexandria Desroches, Edwards is reportedly also the father of Aris Ariel Carlyle, whom he shares with Daja Carlyle, and daughter Aislynn, whom he shares with his girlfriend, Shannon Jackson.
