The upcoming Avengers films have created quite the buzz as Robert Downey Jr. is set to return as Doctor Doom for Avengers: Doomsday and plot details surrounding Avengers: Secret Wars are still brewing.
As several new and old characters are known to be showing up for the highly awaited projects, while fans theorize who else from the remaining Avengers will make an appearance, one character has just been confirmed to not be a part of the films, marking an integral omission from both the projects.
Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch, aka Wanda Maximoff will not be a part of the film as the actress answered whether she will be a part of any of the films the MCU is gearing up for. Responding to Hollywood Reporter's question on whether she will be featured in the Russo brothers' next project, Olsen said,
“No, I’m back [in the States]. I just finished [Panic Carefully]. I’m moving on to filming a pilot for FX [called Seven Sisters].”
The actress also added that it's important for her to explore acting opportunities outside Marvel as well as she said,
“I didn’t realize this until about six years ago, but because Marvel and its influence takes up so much physical time and space in the world, it’s really important for me to make choices outside of Marvel that reflect my own taste.”
Scarlet Witch was last seen in Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness and even though the actress has pitched an idea on how she would like to see Wanda return to the MCU, no reports have been confirmed yet about her return.
More details on Avengers: Doomsday

The sixth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to be a whirlwind and will kick off with Avengers: Doomsday. Much of the information we have regarding the film is snippets of Anthony and Joe Russo's statements who have started opening up about the film.
The key ingredient to the project is, of course, Robert Downey Jr.'s portrayal of Doctor Doom as speculation surrounding his role in the film have been going on for a while as many have predicted that Doom might use his resemblance to Tony Stark as a way to infiltrate the MCU.
This is the first time the Russo Brothers have been back after they left the MCU post Avengers: Endgame to focus on other projects. Their return to the next Avengers film will surely ensure the brilliance of the upcoming projects, considering their stellar contributions to Marvel in all the films they worked on.
The team of Thunderbolts* will also be a part of the film, adding Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova, David Harbour's Red Guardian, and Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes to the MCU. Most of the plot surrounding Doomsday will develop as the events of Fantastic Four: First Steps and Thunderbolts* take place. For now, all fans can do is wait and let the stories unfold.
Avengers: Doomsday has a release date for May 1, 2026
