Avengers: Doomsday is finally all set to get into production, as Marvel President Kevin Feige has announced, bringing fans closer to the final product of what is now one of the studio's most anticipated projects. Feige has announced that shooting will begin on 28 May 2025, almost a full year before it's set to hit theaters. It stars a stunning ensemble coming together to reassemble as the Avengers, and fans are pretty excited for more details.
This means fans can brace themselves for potential photo leaks, spoilers, and set photos that will give us glimpses of the film. Written and directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Doomsday will be a part of Marvel's sixth phase and will bring back some of the biggest names in the franchise as they prepare to face a new hero- Doctor Doom.
Recently, Marvel made a stunning reveal of the first 26 actors for the film, but Feige has revealed that it's not the full list yet, meaning that we will get to see a lot more surprise appearances. Some of these casting choices were obvious, while some characters not being a part of the Marvel Universe have created buzz among fans.

The film is all set to be one of Marvel's biggest projects yet in all its grandeur. Although most of the popular characters of Marvel are returning, the central spotlight is on Robert Downey Jr., who will be playing Doctor Doom. According to Russo, the actor is already working hard as he is adding his own creative inputs to the script.
Talking about Downey to Deadline, Russo said,
“He is so immersed in it. He is so dialed in. He’s writing backstory, costume ideas… We were just on the phone with him this morning before we got here talking about it. He just loves really rich three-dimensional characters. He sees a real opportunity here with the character.”
One of the other significant members joining is the Russo Brothers, who earlier went out of the franchise but now are returning to recreate the magic that they did in the films of the first phase.

Apart from Doom, the cast includes Chris Hemsworth will be playing Thor, and Vanessa Kirby will be playing Invisible Woman. Anthony Mackie will return as Captain America, while Sebastian Stan will appear as Bucky. Letitia Wright will continue as Black Panther, Florence Pugh will star as Yelena Belova, Kelsey Grammer will return as Beast, Lewis Pullman will take on the role of The Sentry, Danny Ramirez will fly in as The Falcon, Joseph Quinn will ignite as Human Torch, and David Harbour will reprise his role as Red Guardian.
Avengers: Doomsday will be released on 1st May 2026.
