New facts surfaced on the fourth day of ASAP (stylized as A$AP) Rocky’s trial when the defendant’s lawyer was cross-examining the accuser, ASAP Relli.

ASAP Relli, aka Terell Ephron, admitted to deleting some text messages from his phone that he sent to his former friend and accused, ASAP Rocky (aka Rakim Mayers).

On Thursday, January 30, 2025, Mayers’ defense attorney, Joe Tacopina, showed a screenshot submitted by ASAP Relli. Tacopina pointed out that on the alleged victim's phone, he hadn't sent any messages before the three unprompted texts by Rocky.

He then displayed a screenshot of text messages submitted by his client, ASAP Rocky, which have the seemingly deleted part of the conservation. In the said deleted messages, Ephron is quite confrontational. Here’s what the four deleted text messages read,

“‘You got all these fake animosity towards me lol beat me up’ – ‘n**** I wish you would’ – ‘Give me a reason n****’ – "U been a p***y’”

On being asked whether he deleted those messages, Relli first called them “fake,” before answering “yes.” He was further asked about the reason for deleting those four older messages, in which he sounded more aggressive. However, Ephron, who was initially seemed to have caught off guard, simply claimed,

“I don’t know. I don’t remember.”

The new findings are crucial to the case, as the alleged shooting incident happened the same day those texts were sent. ASAP Relli’s deleted texts have added a new angle to the case, as he previously alleged that ASAP Rocky had threatened him with a gun on the night of the shooting.

The alleged shooting incident and an altercation between the former ASAP Mob associates happened on November 6, 2021, in Hollywood. According to a report filed by the Los Angeles Police Department, the “argument” between Ephron and Mayers occurred around 10:15 pm. The report further suggests that the argument escalated into a “suspected firing.”

The victim, Ephron, allegedly sustained minor injuries, while the accused and two additional males escaped on foot after the suspected shooting. Although Mayers was not apprehended immediately, the LAPD arrested him in April 2022 at the Los Angeles International Airport. Shortly after the arrest, ASAP Rocky was let go after he paid a bail bond of $550,000.

The trial commenced in January 2025 after Mayers rejected a plea agreement after pleading not guilty. The accused has denied the allegations and might face up to 24 years if convicted. Relli's side has alleged that ASAP Rocky fired a 9mm semiautomatic pistol at the victim on the night of the incident.

ASAP Relli also testified recently, saying,

"He [Rocky] pointed [the gun] at me. And then that's when [ASAP] Illz was like in between. [Rocky] was like, 'I'll kill you right now, pu**sy.' ...I'm right behind Illz and I'm saying, 'If you brought a gun, use it then. Like, what the f**k you brought a gun for?'"

Relli further claimed that Rocky had pointed the gun toward his stomach and his head while “everything was happening so fast.” He also claimed that Mayers was “looking for a spot” to shoot him.

On the other hand, Rocky’s DA has denied the accusations that his client was carrying a real firearm. Instead, the defendant has maintained that he had a prop gun with him at the time of the said incident.
