Ariana Grande announces Eternal Sunshine Deluxe: Brighter Days Ahead 

Fresh off the heels of a breathtaking performance alongside Cynthia Erivo at the Academy Awards, Ariana Grande is looking to capitalize on her current momentum. The multi-talented singer has dropped several hints over the past year but has finally made it official via a post on her Instagram Monday that Eternal Sunshine Deluxe: Brighter Days Ahead is on the way, and will be released on March 28.

The upcoming drop will be a deluxe version of her last studio album Eternal Sunshine which debuted slightly over a year ago.

In speaking with Variety in January, Grande elaborated on what could be expected from her “very special project”,

“I’m out there so much right now. I want to let my children miss me for two seconds. I’m excited to surprise them with it at some point, but I’m still mulling over the timing in my head. It’s not the end of ‘Peaches’ just yet, but she’s going in the closet for a minute.”

She went on to add,

“The album is so concise, and I didn’t want to add songs just for the sake of it. The new tracks are short, but they really count.”

It’s clear Grande isn’t looking to reinvent the wheel with the release, simply add some more layers and nuance to her artistic expression on her previous work. In a more recent conversation with Variety on the Oscars red carpet, Grande teased fans to “keep your eyes peeled” for her impending release. When pushed to address whether it should be expected soon, Ariana replied

“soon means 10 days or less. I’m not allowed to use that word in this moment.”

It has been confirmed that Eternal Sunshine Deluxe: Brighter Days Ahead will feature six new tracks from the Oscar-nominated and Grammy Award-winning superstar. The original version of the album garnered the pop starlet universal praise, with standout tracks “Yes, And?” and “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love”) propelling the record to unparalleled success.

When addressing if her future plans would include more roles on the big screen, or if she was looking to focus on her music, Ariana gave a fairly direct and positive response,

“I would love that, I feel like I have so many beautiful artistic outlets, and we are so lucky to be able to do so many artistic things. We wear many hats.”
