Internet celebrity Trisha Paytas has recently made a guest appearance on Saturday Night Live (SNL) during Paul Mescal’s ‘Spotify Wrapped’ skit. The sketch included stars like Ego Nwodim, Sarah Sherman, and Andrew Dismukes in a room with Mescal, where he discusses his Spotify Wrapped for 2024.

Mescal appreciated his taste in music, saying he was proud of the artists’ lineup in his Spotify. The most-played artists were Sabrina Carpenter, Kendrick Lamar, and Satoshi Gutmann, who topped the list. However, everyone was intrigued by Gutmann as they never heard their name before.

Paul Mescal reacted in surprise at their ignorance as he said Satoshi Gutmann was the anti-instrumentalist sound guru of Dundalk, Maryland. It was Bowen Yang who played the role of Gutmann in the SNL sketch. The skit revealed that Mescal’s most-listened podcast was 'Awakenings with Satoshi Gutmann.’

A clip from the hypothetical podcast then showed Gutmann in conversation with Trisha Paytas. Gutmann asked Paytas about what they always said, to which they both chorused,

“The best bucy is celibacy.”

Gutmann and Paytas appeared in the room where Mescal and others sat, and they danced to Gutmann’s top track Y’all Made Me Celibate. Although the internet celebrity’s appearance in the sketch was brief, it left a good impression on the audience.

Trisha Paytas was drawn to the limelight due to her clash with YouTuber Ethan Klein. Reportedly, it happened between 2019 and 2021 and involved a lot of parodying, X squabbles, bullying, and almost everything unfriendly. As understood from their long-standing feud, they are unlikely to be friends now.

Exploring Trisha Paytas and Ethan Klein’s feud

The clash started in 2019 when Ethan Klein mocked Trisha Paytas’ for posting edited photos on social media. Paytas then backlashed him on social media, drawing attention to the fact that such posts were harmful to women. In October 2019, the internet star came out as a trans man, which many thought was offensive towards the trans community.

Klein mocked her for the video, after which Paytas shared an apology on social media. He made a parody video of the same apology by wearing a wig and putting on makeup. She appeared in Ethan Klein’s podcast in the same month, and reportedly, there wasn’t any contention between them.

She again appeared on the podcast in February 2020, revealing to Klein’s wife, Hila, that she had a crush on her brother Moses Hacmon. Almost a month later, she started dating Hacmon, which made Ethan unhappy. Trisha Paytas also accused him and Hila of attempting to ruin her relationship with Hacmon by calling them out on X in April 2020.

In a surprising turn of events in September 2020, Paytas and Ethan Klein started a new podcast named Frenemies due to their collective hatred towards Keemstar, a YouTube reporter. After several rocky moments between them during Frenemies, she left the podcast in June 2021 owing to certain disagreements.

Trisha Paytas married Moses Hacmon in 2021, and they have a daughter. Ethan Klein shared that he ran into the three of them this year and called the encounter awkward. Despite that, he said they managed to exchange pleasantries.
