A Georgia father, who was arrested for leaving his children at a McDonald's while attending a job interview, is now receiving financial support and assistance from former NFL star, Antonio Brown.

Brown started a GoFundMe page to raise money for Chris Louis, and the fund has already surpassed $75,000 in support for the struggling father.

Chris Louis, a 24-year-old father of three from Augusta, Georgia, was arrested on March 22 for deprivation of a minor after he allegedly left his 10-year-old, 6-year-old, and 1-year-old children in a McDonald’s play area while he attended a job interview nearby.

Louis was arrested after a concerned customer contacted the police about the unattended children. While authorities waited with the children until their mother came, Louis was taken into custody. The incident soon went viral, igniting discussions over poverty, parenting, and the criminal justice system. Many sympathized with Louis, saying that he was just trying to take care of his family.

Chris Louis got support from former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver, Antonio Brown, who took to social media to voice his support for the star:

"Leaving his kids wasn’t right… but not everyone has the $ or help for child care... Chris was on the Pursuit of Happiness & sometimes ppl just need help," he remarked on X.

While he admitted leaving the children alone wasn’t ideal, he pointed out that many low-income parents struggle to pay for childcare while looking for work. Brown started a GoFundMe page donating $1,000 himself at first and asked others to donate as much as they could:

"I have spoken with GoFundMe and they will get the funds to Chris and his family. I haven’t spoken to Chris yet, but I hope to do so soon," he wrote under the GoFundMe campaign.

A look into Antonio Brown's recent financial struggles

As of most recent updates, Antonio Brown has a net worth that is estimated to be around -$3 million due to financial and legal troubles.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, despite earning approximately $80.5 million in his NFL career, his finances have been hugely affected by mismanagement, legal disputes, and controversy.

In May 2024, Brown filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Florida, reporting assets of less than $50,000 against $3 million in debts owed to eight creditors. He also has unpaid credit card debts and owes money to people, including a $296 debt to a plumber. Brown was also ordered to pay more than $1 million to a jeweler for failing to return loaned pieces.

Meanwhile, Antonio Brown’s home, a $9 million mansion in Fort Lauderdale, is protected under Florida’s homestead exemption law, which prevents his primary residence from being seized.
