Captain America: Brave New World star Anthony Mackie, who first made his debut in the MCU as Sam Wilson/The Falcon in Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), has secured his place as the new Captain America.
After the events of Avengers: Endgame, where Steve Rogers passed down the mantel of Captain America to Sam Wilson, iconic shield, Mackie’s character embraced the mantle in the second Disney+ Marvel show titled The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
However, fans are eager to find out just how long will Mackie be taking on the mantel. In a recent interview, Mackie revealed some details about his future as Captain America, contributing to a clear timeline for his stay in the MCU.
While talking about the speculations online regarding when his 10-year tenure started, Mackie jumped in to immediately clarify in an interview given to ScreenRant,
“No, no, no. The 10 years start on the 14th. That's it. After the 14th I got a 10-year run. I'm not trying to be a 60-year-old Captain America. That'll hurt.”

The recent reports and Mackie's interview reveal that he is most likely to be Captain America at least until 2035 making sure that Sam will play a key role in the upcoming MCU storylines.

When asked about this, Mackie highlighted the significance of letting Captain America be on the big screen, telling ScreenRant:
"Captain America deserves to be on the big screen because people love Captain America and that's where they want to see him."
With the new Captain America movie hitting theatres this February i.e., February 14, 2025, the Captain America: Brave New World star has talked about his duration as Captain America will last for at least the next decade.
While Mackie is currently a confirmed cast member in the upcoming two Avengers films, his long-term presence in the MCU will most likely be influenced by how the next MCU phase storylines unfold.
