Walt Disney too won 4 Oscars that year, for his films including 'The Alaskan Eskimo', 'Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom', 'Bear Country' and 'The Living Desert'. Walt Disney's record was unmoved until the arrival of Sean Baker, with Anora.

Before Anora, Sean Baker has previously made films including Prince of Broadway (2008), The Florida Project (2017), Four Letter Words (2000), Starlet (2012), Take Out (2004), Tangerine (2015), and Red Rocket (2021).

In his Oscar-winning acceptance speech, Sean Baker first thanked legendary filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, as he had cast Mikey Madison in his 2019 film Once Upon A Time...In Hollywood. He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Academy, as well as to his fellow nominees.

Along with that, he weaves an urgent, powerful, and impactful message that focuses on the importance of watching films at the theaters. He shed light on the cultural significance of cinema watching as a community experience, especially in relation to recovering from the losses during the pandemic.

Baker ends the speech on a warm note, where he expresses his love and gratitude to his mother on her birthday.
