Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes' relationship timeline explored after couple spark engagement rumors at iHeartRadio Music Awards

Reporter Amy Robach and journalist T.J. Holmes attended the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards. However, their presence seems to have stirred engagement rumors as Roback was spotted wearing a ring on her left ring finger.

According to People Magazine, she wore a deep blue jewel set in diamonds, which complemented her blue dress. Earlier this month, the couple dismissed speculation about getting married. Back then, Amy Robach told the magazine outlet that her mother already thought she was married to T.J. Holmes. She said:

“The truth is my mom even asked me because we wear our Oura Rings. She thought that maybe we had actually gotten married and not told her, and just were wearing our rings on the other finger. I was like, ‘Mom, I would definitely tell you if that were the case.’”

Robach shared that while she and T.J. Holmes focused on their families, they haven’t set a wedding date. They moved in together in 2024. Meanwhile, Holmes explained that since they had been close friends for years and spent so much time together, nothing felt unexpected.

Amy Robach admitted the only thing that caught her off guard was T.J. Holmes’ habit of sleeping with the TV on, something she never knew when they were just friends. She has since adjusted, switching from white noise to television at night.

According to People Magazine, speculations about their relationship began in November 2022 when photos emerged of them holding hands in a car during a trip to upstate New York.

In December 2022, T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach were temporarily removed from their morning news show after news of their relationship became public. However, by January 2023, an investigation by ABC led to a decision that they would not be returning to their roles at the company.

The following month, the pair were spotted vacationing in Mexico, and in March 2023, they ran the NYC Half Marathon together. In November 2023, they made their relationship Instagram official while announcing their new podcast. The post teased their project, Amy & T.J.

During the first episode, Robach and T.J. Holmes addressed speculation about infidelity, clarifying that although their relationship was revealed publicly on November 30, 2022, they were already in the process of divorcing their respective spouses at the time. Speaking about marriage in one of the podcast episodes, Amy Robach said:

“It’s under consideration. We did not enter this relationship for fun or for ‘Let's see what happens.’ We entered this relationship because we intended on spending our lives together. So whether or not we have some sort of legal, you know, I don't know, button on it.”

On the I Do, Part 2 podcast on January 16, 2025, Robach opened up about the challenges of being in a publicized relationship. Amy Robach explained that being in the public eye adds extra pressure. Because of this, she believed many people root for celebrity couples to succeed, knowing how difficult it can be to navigate romance under such intense attention.
