Internet has been left in a frenzy as Atlanta-based rapper Akbar V has come out to support Lil Wayne over his recent dispute with Kendrick Lamar.
The controversy sparked when Lamar mocked Wayne in his latest album titled GNX for not being selected to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime show in New Orleans to be held next year.
In her response, Akbar V took to social media to support Lil Wayne. According to a post shared by The Shade Room the Love & Hip Hop star wrote:
“If I’m not mistaken ion think Wayne said anything about Kendrick doing the Super Bowl the fans did…I’m kind of happy Kendrick started something cause Wayne need to drop new music we miss him…oh I fear he have awakened the sleeping giant…lil Wayne is about to serve…”
Fans took to the comments section to slam the influencer. They opined that her comment was not necessary. Some also said that she loves to “insert" herself in other people’s business just to gain fame and success.

What is the Kendrick Lamar-Lil Wayne controversy about?
According to USA Today, in the opening track wacced out murals, Lamar raps about feeling that his success unintentionally let Wayne down. He stated in the lyrics, "Used to bump 'Tha Carter III,' I held my Rollie chain proud/ Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down."
In his response, Wayne took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his disappointment, warning that Lamar’s response could escalate tensions between them. He tweeted:
“Man wtf I do?! I just be chillin & dey still kome 4 my head. Let’s not take kindness for weakness. Let this giant sleep. I beg u all. No one really wants destruction,not even me but I shall destroy if disturbed. On me. Love.”
“Won the Super Bowl and Nas the only one congratulate me / All these n***** agitated / I’m just glad it’s on their faces / Quite frankly, plenty artist but they outdated / Old-a** flows trying to convince me that you they favorite.” He further adds to the lyrics.
The “Love Me” rapper was left “hurt” and “broken” when NFL chose Kendrick Lamar over him to headline the Super Bowl event in 2025. He expressed in a post on his social media that being overlooked “broke” him, and added that he is just trying to put himself back together.
“First of all, I want to say forgive me for the delay. I had to get strength enough to do this without breaking,” he begins in the video. “I’mma say thank you to every voice, every opinion, all the care, all love and support out there. Your words turned into arms and held me up when I tried to fall back.”
