Liam Gallagher took to X on November 10 to double down on his long-standing stance that Oasis will always be the superior band. While it may have been over 15 years since Liam and Noel Gallagher got together for a live performance, the former was confident they would have no qualms about killing it on stage next year when they reunite.
Read his tweet below:
"Got asked a ridiculous question yesterday so are OASIS gonna be as good as you once were because when sone bands get back together there not as good. I said listen here you C–T even on our bad day we’ll still wipe the floor with majority of bands out there BUMBACLART LG x.”
However, fans were less than cheerful about his tweet. Many responded with pointed and cutthroat remarks, asserting that his prices for next year's concert are too high. Others, however, cheered Liam Gallagher on. As one user spewed:
"Almost as ridiculous as the price you’ve charged, just as good for 5 times the price, as you were."
Scores online joined the discussion, with many probing about what it will be like for him when he buries the hatchet with his brother and joins him on stage next year. Others were excited at the prospect:
"Exactly rkid. Now, the main question is - what’s the first thing you’re gonna say on stage as the frontman of oasis for the first time in nearly 20 years?" one user asked.
"Do you think you're as obnoxious as you once were or have you mellowed with age?" another questioned.
"You're absolutely right, Liam! It was and still is the most exciting and coolest, of course! Or maybe even better. We are very much looking forward to it. So don't worry about anything," someone cheered on.
"The atmosphere will be amazing , I wish I could be there , it will be a great party time and yes, much better than any of the rubbish produced today," one user concurred.
More and more chimed in:
"Assenine question to ask! Your response showed a genuine positive vibe. I'm super excited to see you both in California! In the meantime, go on and smash it, lads!!" one user exclaimed.
"Oasis is a special band with special souls. The tour is sold out, each new gig announced is immediately sold out. You and Noel made millions of people so happy with the Oasis reunion announcement and all the gigs. You are OASIS and we love you Forever and Ever since the 90´," another declared.
"I find most bands sound BETTER when they reunite and you guys are going to blow them all away and be the new gold standard! Welcome back Oasis! Noel and Liam soon to take it to the house!" yet another stated.
"Living in a time where Oasis is back on stage is already more than most fans could ever dream of. And I'm grateful just by the fact that I'll be able to see Oasis again. Don't listen to them everything will go perfect and it will be the greatest comeback in music history," someone tweeted.
The general atmosphere online was buzzing with excitement over next year's concert.
Oasis' Liam Gallagher claims those who ridicule him are not his "real fans," they're "imposters"
This isn't Liam Gallagher's first tirade. Just this September, not long after the reunion was made known, he took to X to take jibes at all those who ridiculed his solo performance just before the Anthony Joshua/Daniel Dubois boxing match.
"To all those SH****** who were crying about my ANGELIC TONES last night you ain’t real fans your just IMPOSTERS and if you do have tickets you wanna get rid off I’ll gladly take them off your hands we don’t want the likes of you at our concerts nxt year any way LFU*****."
As for the Gallagher brothers, the two have often taken shots at each other on a public scale over the years, and their last world tour was in 2009, making their reunion all the more historic. The tour's first leg is slated to start on July 4, 2025, with two shows at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, U.K.
As the summer progresses, the brothers and the band will tour the UK and Ireland, and by late August, they will travel to North America for shows in Toronto, Chicago, New Jersey, and Los Angeles.
Come September, they'll make a pit stop in Mexico, and then it's back to London for their sixth and seventh shows at Wembley Stadium. The tour is also expected to include performances in Australia, South America, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil.
While it was initially unclear if Oasis would be releasing new music or performing it on tour, in September, Liam Gallagher confirmed on X that a new album was 'already finished.'
